Jacob smiled. "well, I am glad you did, made my job a little easier." Jacob smiled as Kadie laid her head on his shoulder. He squeezed her hand, and chuckled a little at her comment. He really just concentrated on what Jace had to say next though. "Oh, believe me, If I ever hurt her, your gonna need to beat me to the punch, cause I will kick my own @ss."

Jace grinned.
"Fair enough. Just make sure you send me pictures of the @ss kicking," he responded with that grin still on his face. He sipped some more at his coffee.
"I'm starving. I'm gonna order some cheescake," he said, knowing that Kadie wouldn't want anything. She didn't really like anything this early except coffee. And she was quite grumpy until she had the first sip. But then, she hadn't seemed at all grumpy coming in.
He got up and was back in a few minutes with some cheesecake. He sat down again.
"So, are you two dating or boyfriend or girlfriend or what?" he asked casually.

"You're always starving," she said with a laugh.
At his next question though, Kadie didn't know what to say.
"Well uh, um.............." she trailed off not really looking at Jacob. She really had no idea what to say. It was funny actually to see a speechless Kadie since that didn't happen all that often.
"We're uh..............well..........." she trailed off.

Jacob squeezed Kadie's hand, and smiled at Jace. "Honestly, we don't really know what we are right now. We are taking this very slow. Don't want to scare her off, and have her encase herself in Snow again." Jacob smiled at Kadie, and then back at Jace. "Bet you've never seen the Snow Queen speechless before huh?"

He laughed.
"Kadie speechless? Never. She's so outspoken that it just doesn't happen very often," he replied with a grin.
"I'm glad that I made her speechless for a moment though. It was fun," he added laughing a bit.
"But yeah you're right. I never want to see the Snow Queen again. Happy Kadie is much more fun," he said smiling over at Kadie.

She smiled at Jacob's response, glad that he had been able to find the words when she hadn't been. She playfully glared at Jace when he said that making her speechless had been fun.
"Yeah well, don't count on it happening again anytime soon," she replied giving him a mocking smile.
"Yeah, I like happy Kadie much better too," she agreed with Jace. It was amazing to her just how happy she could be, when not too long ago she'd pretty much hated everyone and everything in the world other then Jace and Cassie.
