Vannah got up early. Not because she had to or because something woke her up. She just got up. It was odd, even for her. Vannah made her way out of the castle and down the the Forest. She entered it and as she went deeper, she slowed down. She weaved in and out between the trees. And then everything had hit her. She was happy with Ryan. That brought a smile. Then the dread came. The talk with Adrian had left it's mark. Her only son. Gone. Vannah silently wished that Pandora or Lucretia, or both, were there. She would have to tell them everything sooner or later.

Jane got up early, she had been doing that a lot lately, so it wasn't really a surprise to her. She wandered to one of her favorite places - the forbidden forest. Perhaps someone was already there, but she doubted it, so she brought a book with her so she wouldn't have to sit in silence staring around. As she got closer she noticed someone was already there. She was a little shocked as it was quite early. She recognized the figure and realized she had met this girl already. They were brief acquaintances. "Hey, Vannah right?" she asked her.

Vannah's head shot up. She was surprised to hear another voice. She assumed most people would be asleep or eating...something most Hogwarts students do very well. "Oh, hey.." She said. She couldn't remember who the girl was for a moment. Then it came back. "Hello, Jane." She said plainly. The Common Room and her rushed escape was vivid in her mind.

"I didn't think you'd be out here so early" she said, "i don't see very many early people about hogwarts, the only time people usually get up early is to eat" she said, "i can understand for some people" she said, "like many of the gryffindors, especially Gabby" she said, "that girl is a bin - she finished my food without even asking" she said "anyway what brings you out here?" she asked her making small talk.

Vannah shrugged. "There wasn't much sleep going on and I had nothing better to do." She said. She didn't show any reaction to the comment about Gabby even though many snide remarks filled her head. She had gotten what she wanted from that girl and had no other business with her. "What about you?" Might as well keep her talking, that way Vannah wouldn't have to.

Jane nodded, "i didn't sleep very well either" she said, "and instead of trying to go back to sleep i just came out here" she told her, "nothing interesting really" she took a seat near Vannah on the grass, "so is there any particular gryffindors hated by slytherins?" she asked, thinking she may as well know who to avoid so she wouldn't bludger them in a fight.

Vannah looked at her strangely. What an odd question. "Er...no, not particularly." She said. She really didn't know, or care, who the other Slytherins hated. "Though, I'd suppose you'd have a better idea with your sister in Gryffindor." She said brushing a bit of dirt from her clothes.

Jane felt she has asked a bit of an odd question, but suddenly became very confused. "I'm in Slytherin" she told her, "you did not just think i was Kayleigh?" she asked rudely. "I don't mean to be rude but how many people are going to mistake me for my annoying sister" she said exasperated. She calmed down and said "sorry about that little outburst, but i was initially wondering if there was any Gryffindor to avoid - like someone who constantly stands up for themselves because i don't really want to obliterate them in a fight and get expelled, if you catch my drift" she said.

Vannah nodded. Maybe expulsion was a bit extreme for a petty fight. She didn't avoid any Gryffindors, especially now. More like welcomed them. Nothing like a good fight. "I don't really know hat I could help you there." She said apologetically. She scanned the forest wondering if Ryan were up. If so, did he know when he would be getting out? So many things pulled her to the Hospital Wng, but she resisted this once. If he were asleep her being there would probably ony destroy that.

Jane looked around where they were and then back to Vannah, "shame really. There's nothing like a good fight, whether it be friendly or not." she said. "Who do you reckon are the weakest member of the school, except 1st years- 3years" she said, "and what house?" she added to her. Jane thought of so many people she would like to put in the hospital wing, but had resisted the temptation for a while. One being her sister who seemed to think she had more power than herself.

Vannah shrugged. "They all seem weak. Begging you to make it stop. They have no clue what pain is, though." She said beginning to let herself get carried away. "They think it's horrible what we do to them, but we really are doing them a favor. The need it to get stronger and the ones who don't get stronger are usually lost."

Jane nodded. "Yeah we are doing them a favour, you're right. Without us they wouldn't become stronger people." she said smiling. "So who have you done this favour for?" she asked intrigued.

Vannah looked Jane over. She cocked her eyebrow and tilted her head to the side. "I don't tend to get names while I'm cursing them." She said. This certainly was becoming a strange conversation. The ones who had decided to introduce themselves, well they're names were generally long forgotten.

"Fair enough" she said, knowing that this conversation was getting order by the minute. "So are were many of your family members in slytherin?" she asked her. "All my family have been in gryffindor it was only me put in here. But im glad to be different and i aim for my children to be in slytherin" she told her.

Vannah stopped moving. What family? There was her father. Who was he? Where was he?S\He left long before Vannah was born. And her mother? Dead. Vannah didn't even know their names. Tim and Jodie were only her adoptive parents. They had been in Slytherin, but they were anything but family. Vannah shrugged. "It depends on how you would define family." Her family was somewhere at Hogwarts.
