When Arwen finally made it back to the dance floor she had been able to force her hand away from her neck and put her hair back around her shoulders like it had been originally. She had the feeling like everyone knew she had been kissing a masked stranger, though how many of them had done the same? She barely noticed she was back on the dance floor, still trying to figure out who the pirate was, since she knew it couldn't be who she thought, a faraway look in her eyes.

Neo was disturbed by the night's events, distracted as he cut through the crowd at the edge of the dance floor. He'd been searching for someone, taking time out on the way, but really, how was he supposed to find her if he didn't take the time with the other girls he ran across? Still, his last interlude weighed heavy on his mind. He'd meant to hold back until he found her. He nearly passed the girl with the wavy brown hair, but something tugged at his attention, and his gaze swung in her direction. Her costume was nothing extraordinary--some kind of medieval princess--but all the same, the attraction was there. Neo shrugged off his thoughts and put on a smile. "Are you looking to dance?" he asked.

Arwen smiled gratefully when a new stranger spoke to her, "Since I walked in the door," she said. She would finally get to dance, not that she regretted her previous encounter, but she had wanted to dance. The words were out of character, almost desperate. She was tired of thinking about the mysterious pirate, and the new guy was a welcome distraction.

The near-desperation in the girl's voice struck Neo as odd, but she wanted to dance, and since he'd offered, he wasn't going to argue. "I'm Neo," he said, getting the introduction out of the way. He looked over the girl's costume. "And what should I call you?" It could have been anything, for all he knew. At least she appeared to be wearing a costume, instead of just a dress and mask.

"Arwen," she said. She had always loved the character and so it had been one of the first things to pop into her head when thinking of what to dress as. It took her a moment, but she realized who he was supposed to be but, having never seen the movie, she didn't know anything other than his appearance. "Shall we?" she asked, tilting her head towards the floor and grinning.

Neo's lips spread into an almost wolfish smirk. "Yes," he said, "we shall." He led her onto the dance floor, grateful for the motion, grateful for the distraction. She was distracting. He couldn't see any clues to her identity, but he felt them. Whoever she was, he could already tell he knew her. Intimately.

The moment Neo touched her Arwen's blood burned, even if she still had no idea who he was. Not that she cared at the moment, she was content to let her body move with the music. Her arms came up around his neck and she opened her lips to speak, but decided that words weren't needed, so she pressed them back together and let the music take over.

It was the way her arms rested against Neo that clued him in. His body tightened reflexively as he slipped his arms around her waist and drew her flush against him, lips curving. He'd found her. He wondered if she'd recognized him already, knew that if she hadn't, it wouldn't be long. His voice dropped to a murmur only just audible over the music. "Where have you been all night?" he asked. If she hadn't recognized him, it would sound like a cheesy pick-up line, but he didn't really care at this point. Where had she been?

The firm feel of his body against hers made Arwen's eyes open wide, and she smiled, she knew who he was, her body knew who he was. She debated not telling him, but her neck burned, telling her that she wouldn't be able to forget. "With a pirate," she said, her eyes meeting his, well, where his would be if she could see them through the lenses of his glasses. The gleam in her eyes was almost a challenge, daring him to say something about it.

Neo's face darkened visibly, despite the fact that his narrowed eyes were concealed. That wasn't what he'd wanted to hear, and her smile certainly wasn't helping. "I don't want to hear about it," he growled. He didn't need any reminders that he had to share her, or especially about who she was going on with in his absence. He made a note to find that guy again, though.

Arwen pressed a light kiss to his neck, "I was just answering your question, no details." Besides, it would have come out sooner or later, he would have found out, all the better that he found out from her now. "What about you? Been enjoying yourself?" she asked, the costume making her a little bolder than usual, even if he knew who she was. Just the feel of the night gave her the strength to ask.

"Yes," Neo said, though the truth might have been, I haven't decided yet. His eyes, so likely to give him away, were shielded tonight. She didn't need to know the whole truth. He might have told her he'd been looking for her but for that jealous streak he'd discovered. "I've been having a blast." The words sounded a little too dry, even to Neo's ears.

"Nice to know," Arwen said, resisting the urge to roll her eyes at him. She let a hand go up into his hair, but she couldn't do much with it, it was much too short. It was strange, seeing him with the short hair. Then a thought hit her, he barely knew what a television was, much less a movie. She looked up at him, tilting her head, "Where in the world did you get the costume from?"

Neo's still-narrowed eyes didn't ease, for all the good it did him. "A Muggle comic book," he said, debating withholding the rest. Still, he figured he'd go on for now. "I was looking for science fiction and I found this series about some alternate universe. There were some of those Muggle pictures that don't move in the back." Neo shrugged. "I liked it, so I went with it."

Arwen pulled back a little to look at him, him and his little muggle obsession, she hadn't thought to beforehand. "I like it," she said, running her finger along the stiff collar, "You look good." She could feel the residual from telling him she had been with a pirate and she bit her lip, regretting it, she hadn't really needed to tell him. But surely she had, or would have, marks on her neck that he would see, so perhaps it had been the lesser of two evils.
