Gabby smiled as Jane talked about grandmas. She blushed as Jane spoke about how Kay had talked about her, but when Vannah was mentioned her face grew serious and she groaned. "Don't get me started on Vannah" Gabby said crossly. "That's why I'm here" she admitted, looking around and grimacing as the memories came flooding back.

"I don't really know her very well, i know she is in my house but havent really had a chance to have a proper conversation with her yet" she said. "What did she do to you, I've heard that she's quite tough. And Kay told me she used some unforgiveable curses on her, after Kay had used one. You know i never thought she had the guts - i think about that and think i'm wrong about her" she said contemplating.

Gabby looked back at Jane, "We duelled here." she stated simply. "We both ended up in the hospital wing and I have a scar running down here" Gabby said, tracing her scar down the middle of her chest from just below her neck to just above her belly button. "Not a pretty sight when I have a bikini on. Especially with my other scars" Gabby muttered, biting her lip as she would probably have to explain about her other scars now. "At least that time I hurt her as well, the fights had been so one-sided until then" she said, although she knew she shouldn't feel happy about hurting people.

"Ouch seems painful" she said. "Well as much as i dislike my sister i have a duty to her and i said if Vannah ever crossed her and started it i would be there." she said, "and if we become better friends i'll do the same for you" she said smiling. "Well don't worry about the bikini thing, you have a beautiful face to make up for them" she said reassuringly. "And you don't have to tell me about the other scars unless you want to. I wont pry cause it's none of business really" she said to her. "Well at least you have gumption to stand up for yourself" she said

"I've got my own bed in the hospital wing" Gabby joked, twisting her hands together in her lap. "Thanks, I'm not scared to stand up for myself, but sometimes they're older than me and it would just be stupid." Gabby said, she knew that sometimes starting a fight was not the best thing she could do. She laughed as Jane said her face made up for her scars. "Thanks, Ryan certainly seems to think so" Gabby said, then she blushed as she thought that now she would have to explain who Ryan was. She shrugged about her scars, "So many people have asked it doesn't make much difference" she said casually as she looked down at her ring.

"Thats good, guess that's why you are in gryfindor" she said. Jane wasnt going to bother about who Ryan was, he was obviously her boyfriend, well Jane thought so anyway. "Well scars show barvery and that you are normal, i mean i dont think anyone is scarless" she said. "I know i have a couple of scars, inner ones and outer" she said.

Gabby nodded, agreeing with Jane. "All my outer scars are reflected on the inside as well though. And a few are just on the inside, on my heart" she stopped, she knew she sounded romantic and sentimental and she blushed a little.

"Wow i don't know if you realise how soppy and romantic and silly that sounds" she said, but then thought that might start another argument, "but i do understand what you mean." she said feeling it was her time to open up a bit, "you know i wasn't always this mean, In Hawaii when my family lived there i had the best time of my life as did they. I don't know if Kayleigh told you all that happened, it involves death, a friend of ours was in a terrible accident. It resulted in her slow painful death, and we then got a message saying we were wizards and we had the ability to stop it but we didn't realise" she said solemely, "I don't tell that to many people cause it still eats me up inside" she added. "If Kay didn't tell you, I'm sure she would have, but she likes to tell of her life since we've been here which has been very happy" she told her, "But i'm not really the same as i was, i'm more cynical and that reflects in my personality" she said, "Don't misjudge me cause Kay does care, but she has a better way of thinking than i do, i just wish there was some way i could reach my inner self from Hawaii but i feel i have gone past the point of bringing her back you know" she said pouring her heart out. "So now you know a bit more about our past, I would appreciate it if you kept it to yourself, and if Kay didn't mention the death please don't repeat it to her I'm sure she'll tell you at some point when she's stopped living in the present and remembers the past" she told her smiling a little.

Gabby laughed, "Oh I know I can be a romantic fool sometimes" she said openly, smiling. But as Jane told her about their past, she became more solemn and grave. "I'm sorry" Gabby said quietly. "I know it's not easy, my grandmother died about six months ago. I felt helpless, there was nothing I could do and it was torture" she said, holding back the tears that always came when she spoke about her grandmother. She shook her head, "I won't judge you about how you grieve, or deal with what happened, its a personal thing. I won't tell Kay, or anyone else. I know it's not easy talking about this sort of thing" she finished, looking up at Jane, her eyes full of respect.

"Romantic is good though" she said. "And don't worry you really don't have to say your sorry it's not as if you killed her" she stated. "But I'm sorry that your grandma is gone too" she said. "And not very many people know that feeling, I'm lucky that i have someone to understand my pain, even though you had to lose someone to understand" she said, "i feel that sounded quite incosiderate but i didn't mean for it to" she told her earnestly. "Thanks, I'm sure Kay will tell you eventually don't worry i guess she just needs the right time, she can't talk about these things really openly like you or I" she said with respect just as Gabby had shown her.

Gabby nodded, agreeing with Jane. "Don't worry, it's good to hear people saying what they think. People are always so careful after you lose someone, it can get so irritating sometimes" she admitted softly, looking down at the ground.

"Yeah i know what you mean" she said, "but on a less depressing subject how did you come to know my sister Kay?" she asked, "i'm quite intrigued to learn about how she makes her friends seeing as i haven't really made very many yet" she told her, "but keep that on a hush cause i used to be popular and i don't want Kay to think she is more popular then me" she said grinning, "she doesn't deserve the satisfaction" she added cheekily.
