Dare chuckled at that. "Sometimes it's the little things that feel the best, isn't it," he said, a rhetorical question more than anything. "It's the little things that keep you sane." Dare's words started to fade off near the end as his hand moved from detail work to ridiculously picky detail work. He never really finished a picture, there was always something more he could add.

Dru went back to watching Dare draw, though she couldn't imagine anything else that needed to be added to the drawing. "I like looking at the clouds," she said. It was something she had done with her mom, something she still liked to do every now and again. "It's something a lot of other people overlook, but it's peaceful." At times it was her little thing, though sometimes it was just the outdoors in general that she loved.

Dare gave Dru a short look before going back to his picture. He'd bet anything Silver had a raging crush on the girl. His face completely straight, hand working diligently, Dare said, "Silver's really gotten into the outdoors lately. I don't think he's stopped to look at a cloud in years, but if he thought about it, he'd probably end up writing an ode."

Dru could imagine that, "I wish I could be outside more often, I don't get much chance to anymore. Maybe..." she trailed off. In her mind she finished what she had been about to say. Maybe me and Silver can go outside and look at the clouds. She shouldn't like him, right? Not when she still felt for Chase. It was so confusing, and she had only met Silver the once.

Dare didn't know a thing about anyone else Dru might or might not have feelings for, so he pushed on, as subtly as possible pleading his brother's case. Not that Silver wasn't a great guy, but Dare knew how he tried to play down anything that had to do with himself. "Maybe you ought to make the time," Dare suggested. "Just once in a while, you know? Let the t-shirts lie on the floor and take a cloud break." He paused to look up at Dru from beneath the vague curtain of his fringe. "I'm sure Silver'd go with you." Hint.

Dru bit her lip, the similarities between what she had been thinking and what had come from Dare's mouth just registering. "Yeah, I need to. We're in the same house, it wouldn't be hard to find him and go out to the lake," she said thoughtfully, as though already planning it. It would be simple to just wait in the common room until she saw him leaving and ask him. Or she could ditch the club when he came and go out.

"I wonder if he's even been to the lake yet," Dare suggested, turning back to his drawing. They'd been at Hogwarts a couple days, chances were Silver had been to the lake, but he'd give his brother whatever leg-up he needed. "You ought to find out. I'm all the way up in Gryffindor tower, I haven't even seen him." He knew where to find him though, and he planned on making a stop pretty damn soon.

Dru was caught up in her thoughts, or else she would have noticed that Dare seemed to be trying to get her to be with Silver. She was caught up in the doubts and the wishful thinking that everything would work out. Her gaze was unfocused and slightly troubled as she thought. "Yeah, we're on opposite sides of the castle. I'll mention it to him when he comes down to the club."

That worked. Dare let it drop for the moment, just letting the air settle between them. He could hear something in the way Dru talked about Silver that told him he didn't really need to push, which surprised him, but he wasn't going to argue. His hand stopped, and he sat back, eying his picture, then the view in turn, trying to find anything else to add. "Did he say he'd be at the club sometime?" he asked. That would be interesting.

"Mhm, I told him I'd give him a drink on the house and we made plans." For the first time in a while, Dru's eyes focused and she looked up at Dare. There was tightly reined excitement in her eyes at the idea of Silver coming to the club. She was looking forward to talking to him again. Perhaps even going out to look at the clouds.

Dare wasn't looking at his picture anymore. He'd decided to let it sit for now, that watching the emotion and thinly veiled thoughts in Dru's eyes was far more interesting. If he didn't know better, he'd say she had it bad for Silver. The thought brought the hint of a smile to his lips. He'd bet Silver hadn't said a thing about his feelings on loud music and crowded places. Dare decided not to correct whatever opinion his brother had given her. His smile widened. "Silver's a great guy. He didn't let you read his writing, did he?"

"No," Dru said, shaking her head. "But he said he'd let me sometime. And warned me about his handwriting." She smiled, hoping that everything would be fine. It will. She wondered if she could talk to Dare about everything later, if she couldn't figure it out herself. Maybe it would be good to talk to someone that wasn't one of the two guys. She looked away, forcing the thoughts from her mind, she told herself again, more firmly, that she would work it out later.

"It's awful," Dare confirmed. He glanced out into the hall again to find that the girls had wandered off. "I guess this one's done," he said, looking down at his drawing. He flipped the sketchbook closed and set his charcoal back in the open box at his feet, dusting his hand off on the leg of his black-dyed jeans.
"Well, I'm off for now. Gonna go get cleaned up, then head to Hogsmeade. There's this club I heard about," Dare said, lips quirking. He extended his right hand--clean, since he'd been drawing with the left. "It's been nice talking to you, Dru."

Dru grinned and shook his hand, "You too. Maybe I'll see you there, that's where I was headed." She stood and, after a little wave, walked off through the people down to Hogsmeade. She liked him, though not as much as his brother, but that could be because they hadn't talked as long.

Dare watched Dru walk away, wondering about her and Silver, and paying more attention to her than he would have otherwise. She was pretty, nice eyes, nice girl. For what it was worth, he approved. When she'd disappeared into the crowd, Dare turned back to his art box and closed it up. He wasn't really in a hurry, but he figured he may as well get going. Within a few minutes, he'd packed up and headed off toward Gryffindor tower.
