Ryan walked out onto the pitch. He had not flown in a while and decided today was the day to start back up. He mounted his broom and took off in the air enjoying the wind blowing through his hair. He flew high and hovered there looking down at the grounds.

Gabby reached the pitch, broom in hand, and looked around to see if anyone else was there. Seeing someone up in the air she mounted quickly and kicked off, shooting into the sky. She soared over to them. smiling as she realised it was Ryan. She neared him and stopped, hovering in the air. "Hey Sweetie, how are you?" Gabby asked, recovering her breath from her fast flight up here.

"Good" Gabby said, hovering slightly closer to Ryan so she could kiss him on the cheek. "I tried out for the team and got seeker" Gabby said excited that she had made it. Then she remembered what she had read in the paper earlier and made a face. "Did you see 'Gaby's Gossip' hun?" She asked, wondering what he thought about it all if he had seen it.

Ryan smiled "That is great hunnie! I am going to try out soon." then he laughed at her question "Yea I did. They must be really hurting for some gossip to twist a simple talk into me cheating on you."

Gabby nodded in agreement. "I don't think you're cheating on me. And that stuff about Chase and me is rubbish, we were just swimming" Gabby said, while they were on the subject of cheating. "Thanks, what would you try out for?" Gabby asked, returning to the subject of quidditch.

"A couple of us went up for captain, so I din't know who's made it yet" Gabby replied, looking down at her ring with a smile. She looked up again though when she remembered the other gossip in the paper. "Did you see that about the Ravenclaw, Cassie I think her name was" Gabby asked curiously, wondering if Ryan had ever met her.

"I honestly don't know" Gabby replied, "I mean, if it's not true, then it could be pretty damaging to both her and the professor, but then if it's true..." Gabby trailed off, she didn't have to finish that it would be the biggest scandal around here for years. "Anyway, what do we care about them, we're engaged and we're getting married, and there is nothing wrong with that" Gabby said with a smile, although it slipped as she remembered the letter she had received a few days ago from her parents.

Ryan saw gabby's smile fade away and he looked at her "What's wrong baby?"

Gabby sighed and looked up at Ryan. "I, I got a letter from my parents a couple of day's ago. They," she paused, this was so hard to say. "They want me to break off the engagement and never see you again" she said quickly to get it over and done with. Tears welled in her eyes and she moved closer to Ryan so that she could hug him awkwardly. "I don't want to do that sweetie, I won't. but I can't turn my back on my family" she whispered softly, feeling a single tear slide down her cheek.

Ryan was shocked. He put his arms around gabby and held her close to him not knowing what to say.

Gabby let the tears flow freely, there was no point hiding it from Ryan. "It's like I'm being ripped in two" she whispered, closing her eyes, as if it would help the pain go away.
