Cassie just nodded and sat down suddenly. She looked down at her feet, trying to organise how she was feeling about hwat had just happened. She sighed and looked out, over the forest. She was afraid of what she had just seen, and yet at the same time she loved Julius more because of it. "Who were you talking about?" she asked finally, her voice soft and gentle. "You don't have to tell me I just.." she broke off, waiting to see if Julius would answer.

Julius sighed, and looked at Cassie, a slight smile on his face. "I guess the demons of our past never really stay hidden, don't they?" Julius braced himself for the storm that was sure to come upon the conclusion of his tale. "Are you sure you wanna hear this hun? There is alot of bad history in my tale."

Cassie turned to look at Julius, and moved closer to him, taking his hand. "I don't know. That night was so special. That is the Julius I love." she broke off, then took a deep breath. "love" she repeated before continuing. "I want him back, but I want to know the old Julius too." Cassie stopped and bit her lip, how could she explain this.

Julius smiled at Cassie, and took her in his arms. "If you wanna know the old me hun.....well...........I will not deny you that knowledge hun........" Julius sighed, and began his tale. "Well............I guess I should begin by telling you exactly who we were talking about. Oh, I was talking to my dad. Yeah, I know it is crazy cause he died when I was very young, but he comes to me sometimes....yeah.......anyways.....the girl we were talking about was my first love.........my greatest love. Isis...........I will never forget..............She was a............a.............death eater hun."

Cassie let herself be pulled into his arms. "A death eater" Cassie repeated then bit her lips so she was quiet. "Go on, I won't interrupt" she said to Julius. She shifted a little to get comfortable and closed her eyes, enjoying his embrace for a moment.

Julius laughed out loud, before his eyes took on a dark and ominous tone. "I did the same thing you did hun..............I should have left...........I should have dumped her.............but I was in love.............she meant everything to me, and I was willing to do anything to keep her. I thought I could change her. I thought she could turn good, but............but she was in too deep. Her family was in so much danger. So..........I realized what I had to do..........If she couldn't change for me.........then................then I was going to change for her........."

Cassie could tell what was coming. "You became a death eater" she whispered softly, watching the trees sway in the breeze and the clouds blow across the sky. She didn't know what else to say, she couldn't offer anything else yet, she had to hear the rest. Then a small smile appeared. "Sorry, I said I wouldn't interrupt" she said softly.

Julius squeezed Cassie's shoulder softly. "It's okay hun. It's kinda hard not to react to news like that. Yes though, I became a Death Eater. It was worse than that though. I was in such good trust with my fellow students, and more importantly, The Headmistress, that I was able to become a spy in the Order. My words have lead to the deaths of dozens. The headmistress eventually figured it out though. They attacked us, and..........................The blood on my hands has never fully washed away. After that day, something in me changed, and.............Isis and me never spoke again. I still think of her often though, and wonder what if? The Headmistress was gracious enough to let me stay on and graduate, after which I became an Auror. The lure of fighting never really attracted me anymore though, and so I came here." Julius ended his tale, not sure what Cassie would do now that she knew what kind of person he was.

Cassie sighed, knowing what she had to do. "I can't say I like it Julius. I can't say good for you. But at least you fixed your wrongs, you became an auror, then you taught here." Cassie said softly. She drew a breath and continued. "We all have a past that we're not proud of, some more recent than others." Cassie broke off, she couldn't continue, couldn't force the words frim her lips, not knowing how much pain it would cause Julius.

Julius was to quick for Cassie though. His years of Auror training were paying off. He could sense the deception in Cassie's voice. "What aren't you telling me hun? I thought we could be completely honest with each other?"

Cassie took a deep breath to steady her voice. "I was going to tell you, I just got a little nervous" she admitted. "Well, after you left that night in the forest. I was heartbroken" She started, wondering what was the best way to explain this. "Like I said i wasn't myself for a while, I didn't dance, couldn't sleep, hardly ate." Cassie looked down, she sounded pathetic, but he had earned the truth from her so she continued. "I was in the forest, when I danced again. Then.... He appeared. We danced together, something I haven't done since I left college and it healed me, set me free again as I was doing what i loved. He moved it on from dancing though, we ended up have sex in the forest." Cassie said it at least. She relaxed, knowing that now she had at least told him. "I didn't mean anything. It was just a way to relieve my stress. Nothing will ever compare to what I had with you" she said softly, tears sliding down her cheeks at the thought that she had pushed him away.

Julius stood up, a look of shock on his face. He couldn't believe it. "You had sex with........................You say you love me..................and.........................who was it? Who was he?" Julius was unable to think rationally at the moment.

Cassie felt her stomach drop, why had she told him! Things would have been fine. "Julius please" she sobbed looking up at him. "You have to understand it from my point of view. I thought you had left me, that you would never come back and that crushed me into a million little pieces. I didn't mean for it to happen. It wasn't important and I regret it now!" Cassie wiped away some of the tears but fresh ones just slid down her cheeks. She gasped as he asked who it was. She shook her head. "Don't make me tell you, please, don't make me, it could have been anyone who it was isn't important!" she cried. Cassie pulled up her knees and wrapped her arms around her as she started to sob even more.

Julius would normally be comforting Cassie right now. He couldn't stand to see her like this, but he was in another world right now. The thought of another man touching her, of another man...........the thought was almost to much for him to bear. "Who it was is of vital importance, and if you think that I could leave you so easily, then you don't know me at all. Now, who was it?" Julius stood rigid, waiting for her response.

Cassie's sobs eased as she grew tired. She lifted her head and looked earnestly into Julius' eyes. Her own were the soulful green/black they turned when she was ashamed and upset. "Why Julius, why do I have to tell you?" she begged softly, wiping the tears from her cheeks.
