Julius was so confused right now. He had felt these feelings before, but never for a student. As he sat in the stands of the Quidditch Pitch his mind began to play tricks on him, and he began to see Isis, floating along on her broom, dancing in the sunlight, dazzling him with her smile. Julius could feel tears begin to flow out of his eyes, he wiped them away, and sighed. He missed her so much. Life seemed so much simpler back then. There was no turmoil, there was.................well, there was controversy, but he could get through it because he had her with him. What had happened? Where had it all gone wrong?

Cassie wandered down to the quidditch pitch, her head in the clouds. She smiled at the sunny sky and the birds in the forest. As she reached the pitch, she looked around to see if she was alone. At first she thought she was then she caught sight of a figure sitting in the stands on the other side of the pitch. She sighed, she recognised him. She walked round the edge of the pitch in the shadows, she didn't want him leaving before she could even talk to him. She climbed the stands silently until she reached the same level as Julius. She saw tears on his face and her heart twisted in her chest. "Julius" she said softly, waiting for him to look up.

Julius knew she was coming even before she spoke. Her scent had been carried by the wind, as a kind warning to him. He was just to depressed to listen. As she spoke, He could feel his gut tighten up, he could feel his pain deepen. He sighed, and his eyes remained on the ground. "I used to love coming here, I used to love playing this game. I used to love the roar of the crowd. I used to love the feel of the air whipping around my body. I used to love it all." Julius looked up, and saw Isis again, soaring through the air. "Things have just changed so much though. Nothing seems fun anymore. Nothing makes sense anymore."

Cassie's heart hurt a little bit more with every word. She sat down next to julius, but left space between them, not wanting to push herself on him. She sighed and looked around the pitch, imagining the playes shooting through the air. She had never known quidditch, but she knew where he was coming from. "I didn't dance for a week. I couldn't bring myself to" she said quietly, looking at Julius. The memory of the last time she had danced came flooding back, but she pushed it down, it had meant nothing to her like Julius had.

Julius looked at Cassie, a hard look on his face. "I am not really talking about Quidditch hun, and I am definately not talking about dancing. I am talking about you and me.............I am talking...........about.............her..............I am talking about why this can't happen.................why this will never happen..................." A fire began to burn in Julius. He glared at Cassie, and sighed. He began to sing a verse from one of his favorite Muggle musicals.
"Who do you think you are? Barging in on me and my guitar Little girl -- hey The door is that way You better go you know The fire's out anyway Take your powder -- take your candle Your sweet whisper I just can't handle Well take your hair in the moonlight Your brown eyes -- goodbye, goodnight I should tell you I should tell you I should tell you I should -- no! Another time -- another place Our temperature would climb There'd be a long embrace We'd do another dance It'd be another play Looking for romance? Come back another day Another day"
Julius thought of Isis again, and sighed.

Cassie felt a single tear slide down her cheek at the words in the song. She quickly wiped the tear away and looked away from Julius. "Do you think that's normal for me, to just not dance. Do you think that my life just carried on happily" she asked suddenly, still not looking at him. She sighed, smoothing her hair in the wind. "Julius, I don't know the words that will convince you that there is a chance," Cassie pasued and drew in breath, trying to stay calm. "that this could work. Don't you remember that night, because I certanly do" she finished softly.

Julius looked into Cassie's eyes, the fire still burning in his own. "There is nothing you can say hun. This was decided long ago. Long before you got here, and long before I became who I am today. It is fate hun. I am not allowed to be happy, and everytime I try, everytime I am on the verge of success, the people I care about most get hurt. I can't see that happen to you. I can't see it happen again." Julius thought back to that night long ago. He thought back to Isis. "Of course I remember that night hun. It is the reason why this can't happen."

Cassie turned to look at him, confusion in her eyes. "Julius explain to me, tell me what happened. I don't understand and you're not making sense" she said softly. She leaned forward and placed her hand gently on his arm. "I want to know" she added. Cassie held back the tears, knowing it would just upset Julius more.

Julius sighed and stared into Cassie's eyes. "You wouldn't understand hun. Unless you have experienced what I have............Unless you have been in love with a dea...................." Julius couldn't even bring himself to finish his sentence. It was too painful. He swallowed, and looked back down at the ground. Tears were flowing out again. He sighed, and looked back out at the field. His eyes got wide. He blinked, and rubbed them, but the figure in the distance wouldn't go away. "No." Julius couldn't believe it. It had been so long. He had thought he was finally gone. After all these years..........why was he here?! "No! Leave me alone! Go away!" The figure just smiled, and walked over to him, sitting down next to him. It put a hand on his shoulder, and smiled. "Son, I think it is time for another talk." Julius looked up into the face of his father, and began to cry hard, taking in deep rasping breathes.
(OOC: You cannot see him hun, just to let you know. This is all in Julius's mind.)

Cassie sat there, trying to undertand, trying to follow his train of thought. As Julius began to talk again she stood up, frightened and took a few steps away from him. "Julius" she said, failing to keep the slight tremble out of her voice. "Julius what's going on, do you want me to leave?" she asked calmly. Cassie followed his line of sight and saw no one sitting where he was deteminely staring. "There's no one there honey" she whispered softly. Inside her mind was racing, what had she gotten herself into, what was going on. She just wanted to run and never look back, but she couldn't do it to Julius.

Julius grabbed onto Cassie's arm, and held her in place. "Please.....dont leave me alone.........Not with him........." Julius looked into the smiling face of his father, and grimaced. The last time he had seen him had been a very bad time indeed. A time of death. Julius shook his head, not wanting to remember that horrible time. He pulled Cassie closer to him, afraid that she would just leave. His father squeezed his shoulder, and shook his head. "What are you doing son? I thought you were better than this......." Julius glared at his father. "What does it matter to you?! THIS IS MY LIFE! LEAVE ME ALONE!" Julius could see his father's face falter, and give him a hard look. "I will always be here for you son, whether you like it or not." Julius turned away from his father, knowing that he would still be there. He just wanted to talk to Cassie. "I am sorry for the interruption hun. Some people are just so rude."

Cassie stood there shocked. "I won't leave you Julius" she said softly, her confusion and fear obvious, yet her love kept her there. Cassie shook her head, trying to find words, she was scared by this Julius, this wasn't the one she had met in the forest. "It's ok Julius don't worry" she said squeezing his hand.

Julius could feel his father lingering behind him. He smiled at Cassie, and kissed her hand. "Thank you hun. I can't stand being alone." Julius heard his father laugh behind him. "But your not alone son, I am right here." Julius shivered. "Son, look at me......." Julius reluctently turned around, and looked in his father's eyes. "I am not here to judge you son. Who am I to judge someone who doesn't deny their heart? I think that you are making the right decision son. She is a very pretty girl." Despite himself, Julius had to smile a little. "What are you doing here then?" Julius saw his father smile. "I am here to help son. I am here because of what you have been thinking lately. Don't think I don't remember her as well son. Don't think I don't remember what that little lying b!tch..............." Julius jumped up in rage. "DON'T YOU TALK ABOUT HER LIKE THAT! YOU NEVER KNEW HER! YOU HAVE..............NO IDEA.................HOW HARD SHE TRIED TO BREAK AWAY FROM HIM...............YOU............." Julius lost his steam a little as a small thought digged into his head. He slowly turned and looked at Cassie. How crazy she must think he was.

Cassie squashed her fear, knowing that it would just upset Julius more if she left. She jumped a little though when he started to shout. She stood up and gently pulled Julius into her arms. "Shhh, it's ok, you're safe with me." she whispered to him as tears slid down her cheeks, she closed her eyes and held him close, trying to get him to relax.

Julius slowly turned to his father, a look of pure rage on his face. "Leave now, and never come back......" His father looked into his eyes, smiling. "Son................" "LEAVE NOW AND NEVER COME BACK! YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO TALK ABOUT HER LIKE THAT! SHE HAD NO CHOICE, HE WOULD HAVE KILLED HER ENTIRE FAMILY! JUST LEAVE DAD! NOW!" Julius's father gave one last look at him, before disappearing into the sun. Julius turned back to Cassie and kissed her. "I am so sorry you had to witness that hun. I never wanted you to know that side of me." Julius looked down at the ground, shame etched on his face. "Why he came back now.............." Julius shook his head, trying to clear his thoughts.
