Cassie looked at the lake as the rain disturbed the smooth glassy effect it often had. She got up and stretched. She hadn't danced in over a week and she was starting to miss it. She shook out her arms and looked around. Seeing nobody she stepped out from under the tree and began to dance, ignoring the rain.

It was raining, something that Amberlynn loved, it reminded her of her family and how on rainy days she'd go fishing with her dad. Amberlynn sighed as she walked through the grounds of Hogwarts, she didn't like thinking about her family much, it made her homesick. Amberlynn kept her face down, her long red hair wet and straight in the rain. She hummed a lullaby she remembered as a child before stopping at the lake, sitting down on the wet grass not bothering to look around to see who else might of been there.

Cassie let sound of the rain falling on the lake and in the trees set the rhythm for her dance. This was truly dancing, matching your body to nature so it all melded into one, joyful celebration of life. Cassie whirled to a stop and smiled to herself, feeling much more relaxed and possitived. She noticed someone sitting on the grass and went towards her, pulling her hair out of it's ponytail as she went. "Hi, lovely weather isn't it" she said sincerely as she had always loved the rain.

Amberlynn looked up at her and smiled, "Yeah... I guess." She said pushing her wet hair backward letting a few strands drop to her face. "Wanna sit with me?" She asked before diverting her gaze back to the rippling water her eyes shone at every new appearing ripple in the lake.

"Sure" Cassie said and sat down on the damp grass next to the girl. "I'm Cassie," she said, introducing herself, she hoped that as the girl had been facing away from Cassie she hadn't seen her, it had been a private moment and the magic would have been lost if someone else had witnessed it. "Did you uh, see me dancing?" she asked hesitantly.

Amberlynn smiled, "Nice to meet you Cassie... I'm Amberlynn." She said looking at her, she was quite pretty if she had to judge the girl. Amberlynn looked at her a confused expression on her face, "Urm... no I didn't see you dancing." She said biting her lip, it was an odd question really... who'd dance in the rain? "I'm assuming that you enjoy dancing then? I mean... if you dance in the rain and stuff." She said blushing before looking away quickly.

Cassie laughed softly, relieved she hadn't been seen. "Well I'm a dancer. I dance whenever I can and I find dancing in the rain very therapeutic." Cassie pulled a strand of wet hair out of her face, the girl was pretty, and good natured. "So what house are you in?" she asked, guessing the girl was the same age as her.

Amberlynn nodded grinning as Cassie spoke, "That's really cool, I don't really have any talents... well I guess being Magical is talented I guess..." She said not wanting to give too much about herself away, stopping herself from talking before she went into telling her about how her family could never afford any extra music lessons or anything like that. "Oh... I'm a Hufflepuff-" She said with another smile, "And yourself?"

"Ravenclaw" Cassie replied promptly. "I'm sure you have talents, and having magic is definitely one, I'm guessing your parent's aren't magical then?" she asked. Cassie smiled, she like the amberlynn and had a good feeling about her.

Amberlynn shook her head, "Nope, I'm the only one in the family... they were pretty shocked when they found out." She said letting out a laugh remembering the look on her parents faces, "What about you?" She asked curiously running a hand through her hair.

Cassie smiled, it must have been quite a shock. "Both my parents are wizards." she said simply, leaving it open if Amberlynn wanted to know more, but not continuing as she didn't want to bore her. "So do you like being the only witch in your family?" she asked curiously as she would never know how it felt.

Amberlynn nodded "That's cool." She muttered taking her time to reply as she stared out at the murky lake water, her gray eyes reflecting the gray color of the water "It doesn't make a difference to any of us..." She said still staring out at the water.

"Oh, ok" Cassie said, thinking that she had maybe touched a nerve. "So, what classes are you taking, what's your favourite?" she asked brightly, changing the subject. Cassie gazed out across the water, watching the rain fall.

Amberlynn shrugged, "I'm a little late at picking subjects so I haven't picked with term... you?" She mumbled feeling a little uncomfortable talking to the girl, she barely new her and was asking a lot of questions already. Amberlynn didn't really like people that asked a lot of questions.

Cassie shrugged, "As many as I can take, with all my dancing and time at college, I still have work to catch up on." Cassie let silence surround them as she had a feeling Amberlynn wasn't too enthusiastic about the questions.
