Gabby smiled as she watched the owl with the letter containing the news of her engagement soar away. Her smile faltered slightly though as she turned her thoughts to what her parents would think. She was only young and hadn't known Ryan long. Gabby knew it was the right thing for her, but would her parents? She sighed and leaned her elbows on the window ledge, thinking it all over.

Emma walked into the Owlery,staring at the letter she helt in her hands.She was sending it to her family back home.When she looked up she saw another girl standing in the Owlery-she was a Gryiffindor.Not much older than her.Emma sighed with relief,she was glad it wasn't another Slytherin.

Gabby looked up, startled out of her reverie with the arrival of someone else. She smiled when she saw a girl a little younger than herself. "Hi!" she said. "Time for the required letter home?" she asked, teasing as she raised an eye brow.

Emma gave a small laugh,glad the girl was friendly."Yeah.If I don't send one every week or so they get all freaked out,"she said and smiled.Her Barn Owl took the letter in his beak and flew away,after Emma patted himo n the head."Parents,you know...."

Gabby laughed, "I have exactly the same problem, I just hope they like my news" she mused, twisting her ring round her finger absently. A habit hat grew quickly after Ryan proposed.

Gabby giggled. "Thanks, I ahve no idea how my parents will react." she aid, suddenly anxious. She chewed her lip. "I mean it's not exactly usual for a girl to get engaged at my age." she continued.

Gabby brushed it off. "Don't worry, they will get used to it. I'm sure they'll be fine with it once they've met Ryan. And i didn't mention my new scars which will probably help things" Gabby said half joking.

Gabby grimaced, "Yes, I arrived with one scar, now i have three" Cassie said, tracing the one on her collarbone and the one down the middle of her chest with her finger. "I seem to attract accidents" she said.

"Fights with some slytherins" Gabby said casually, although talking about it now made her shiver slightly. She put on a smile, reassuring Emma she was ok. "I broke my wrist at the same time as I got my second one, and with my third I nearly died. I would have died if Ryan didn't find me. Us." Gabby elaborated slightly.
