Cassie made hr way down the stairs. The weather had suddenly turned warm and she was going out to catch some sun. She had her bag slung over her shoulder and she was wearing some short shorts and a simple t shirt. Her long blond hair was loose and her green eyes were sparkling. As she reached the bottom of the stairs she sat down to reflect on her time so far at the castle.

"Wow..." Even though he had only gotten his letter a week ago, Malcom had been so enthusiastic about Diagon Alley. Walking into the Entrance hall he knew he was in the right place for him to be. "It's... so... big..". It was a couple of seconds before he saw the girl walking down the stairs.

Cassie looked up and saw a stranger standing in front oh her. She smiled at his exclamation. "Hi, you must be new. I did exactly the same thing when I walked in here for the first time." She said.

Malcom looked hopeful at the look on this girl's face, but how all of the people at his muggle school treated him, he had no way to tell. "Umm... hi..." He was nervous.

Cassie smiled at him. "Hi, welcome to the castle. I'm Cassie. It's nice to meet you.." she trailed off as she didn't know his name."

Cassie shook it seriously. "It's a pleasure Malcom" Cassie said, a smile on her lips. "I'm a Ravenclaw sixth year" Cassie said to the younger boy. "I only arrived a few weeks ago myself, the castle already feels like home." Cassie could tell her eyes where shifting from green to grey and she hoped it wouldn't startle him at all.

Malcom did not notice this small change in her eyes. "Oh... I just got my letter... I'm in my first year." He thought about it, and realized he knew almost nothing about the castle. Once, he read a book called Hogwarts, A History but, his mind blanked on the subject. "I was actually hoping to get into Ravenclaw."

"I've heard that I don't really decide that," Malcom said with a small smile, "The sorting hat does."

Cassie shrugged, "I wanted to be a Ravenclaw and I am, though I transfered here from a performing arts college so I was a special case." She added her eyes twinklng.

"I know that this might be crazy..." Did I see her change her eye color? This would be a question that would either get him a smack across the face, or an answer... hopefully an answer. "Are you an metamorphmagus?" He held his breath, clearly audible.

Cassie looked puzzled for a moment. "I don't think I am why?" she asked, curious as to what he was thinking.

Malcom exhaled. "Well, this might sound crazy, but I thought I saw your eye color change. That's usually only what a metamorphmagus does..." He knew that he was going in pretty deep, and if he asked a question that he shouldn't have, there was going to be consequences. That's what happened at his muggle school once. He lost his best friend. At this thought, Malcom's eyes drooped. Quickly, noticing this flaw, he fixed his eyes.

Cassie was interested, "Only metamorhpmagus can do it?" she asked softly, settling her eyes intently on Malcom. "I've been able to do it for as long as I know, but nothing else. It's to do with my emotions. Some days eyes are grey, others green and sometime nearly black." she continued.
((Being a metamorphmagus sounds like fun!))
