Vannah had slipped out of the castle through a tunnel in the Slytherin tower. She had ended up in the Hogs Head and was glad to see there was not many people there as usual. She waved to the bartender and headed out the door.
On the streets, the hood of her cloak was pulled up and her face was mostly hidden. Vannah came to her destination and slipped around back to get in. Vannah walked into the Shrieking Shack slowly as if it were a sacred place to her. She placed her hand along the wooden banister and ran it up and down, feeling the splinters in the aged wood. She saw no one else in the darkness, but listened just to be sure. The sounds of misce and other small in habitants were all she could hear and she breathed a sigh of relief.

Kayleigh was bored so she wandered out of the castle grounds in nightfall. She couldn't sleep and needed something to do, something to stimulate her. She wandered over to the shreiking shack and walked inside, she walked across the creaking floorboards. She loved this place one of the reasons being it was quite quiet. She noticed though that there was already someone in there. "Hello?" she asked in the darkness wondering who it could be.

Vannah's ears perked up when she heard creaking. It was heavier than what was coming from the rodents. An unfamiliar voice called out and she swiveled around. Vannah could see the outline of a figure in the darkness. "Who's there?" She ashed sharply. Her voice was cold and hard and her hand ran over where she kept her wand...in case she needed it.

"It's Kayleigh" she said unsure into the darkness. "Who are you?" she asked the girl. she could make out her outline in the darkness but didn't recognise the voice. Kayleigh took a few small steps forward to see if she could make out the person. Perhaps she already knew her, she wasn't really sure.

Vannah pulled her wand out slowly and held it close to her as Kayleigh stepped forward. Her eyes were narrowed. "Vannah." She said. Vannah did not recognize anything about the girl ----the name, the voice, or what she could make out of the physical appearance. "What are you doing here?" She asked, the tone in her voice showing no change.

Kayleigh realised that she had no idea who the girl was and decided to be on her guard a bit. She really couldn't match anything about her. "I just came here to relax" she said, "couldn't sleep" she added. "What about you?" she asked Vannah taking a couple of steps closer.

Vannach crassed her arms. She thought about an answer to give. What was she doing here? Solitude, comfort, there were a million reasons. "I come here often." She decided. It was really an answer, but it was certainly more than she'd usually give away. It had been such a crazy week she decided to not be so snotty...at first.

Kayleigh watched her fold her arms. "Ah i see" she said, "i come here often as well, i like the quiet it's unlike the school" she said taking a seat on the floor sitting cross legged. "You can take a seat if you want" she said to Vannah, "I'm 6th year in gryffindor by the way" she added looking around the shack, "i just love this place" she remarked smiling, "it's unlike many other places around, don't you agree" she asked making small talk. She may as well seeing as she would be here for a little while, and in some ways company is better than being alone.

Vannah wanted very much to be alone. The whole point to ever coming here was to be alone. "Yes...it is very...unique." Her words came out slowly and her voice lacked enthusiasm and was filled with coldness. She didn't take a seat or move at all for that matter. She still clutched her wand in her hand.

Kayleigh thought to herself. This girl is obviously not at all friendly so she decided not to speak for a while. She got up and moved to the opposite side of the room, sat down again against the wall and took out a book to read. She then said to the other girl, "you are welcome to sit down over here if you want to" she said and then began to read her book.

Vannah was silent as well. She wouldn't speak unless she had to. Her patience was running out. She got here first and planned on staying here for a while....alone. She wondered how the girl could see in the darkness. "No, I actually came down here to get away from Hogwarts and everyone at Hogwarts." Her eyes focused on Kayleigh's face and almost seemed to glow in the dark. "Especially the Gryffindor sort." She said as her mind flickered to Gabby.

Kayleigh watched Vannah. "Ah i see" she said to remark, "i like to get away from hogwarts sometimes" she said, "i can tell you're not a fan of gryffindors, i dont see why there has to be such stereotypes with both gryffindor and slytherin although i can tell by talking to you why Slytherins are stereotyped as moody and unnecessarily aggressive" she said with a sly smile on her face, if Vannah was going to start picking ridiculous fights Kayleigh wasnt going to just ignore them.

"We like to think of it as decisive and strong." Vannah said smirking. This girl obviously wasn't getting the hint and it was beginning to annoy you. "From what I can tell, Gryffindors are generally proud and weak." She said condenscendingly.

"Ah sure" she said, "another great quality of slytherins - abnoxious" she added smirking. "I was going to be put in slytherin you know" she said, "but i was put in gryffindor instead, somthing about the house just seemed right you know" she said, "weak i can assure you we aren't but brave" she told her "bravery is the best quality we possess, i mean i didnt take my wand out when i saw you, did you?" she asked just as condescendingly.

"Brave? Hardly..." Vannah scoffed as her mind flickered to Gabby. There was nothing brave about that girl. Every battle was lost and during most she was protected by someone else. There were so many times she had been into the Hospital Wing. When was the bravery then?
