Gabby blushed again. "Thanks, for being glad, I haven't exactly been an easy person to be around since..." Gabby trailed off, not sure whether or not she wanted to tell this stranger, albeit pretty cute and older about what had happened. She couldn't even bear talking about it with her family yet...

((333 isnt that bad.... You werent on the site for a long time..... I had one stint of like 4 months where i wasnt on.... other than that i have been on this site constantly since i registered in July 2005))
Ryan could tell what was going through her mind and said softly "You don't have to tell me anything that you don't want to talk about"

All the other active members are girls and you're taken  . why don't you persuade some friends? )) Gabby's heart warmed, she felt herself want to tell him, a tiny bit, but she wasn't sure if he would want to handle a weepy 3rd year, because that was highly probable. Gabby did not want to go all wet on him. A small smile played on her lips and she opened her mouth.. |

((None of my friends like Harry Potter...... I was kinda the one that got made fun of through high school for a couple of different things.... HP and being in theater..... The few people around here that I know that like HP arent really into roleplaying online..... trust me i have told everyone i could about this site lol.... and what says im taken??? last i checked im single...))

Poor you about your friends as well, and being picked on, its never fun,))
Gabby looked away, not being able to meet your eyes.
"Well," she started "as I told you I've been away for a while." Gabby drew a deep breath, trying to keep the tremor from her voice, as hard as it was, she knew that she would feel better after she said it.
"I had to go home, my grand mother, my mums mum, had been ill and took a turn for the worst. Mum sent for me immediately and I was home just in time." Gabby's voice shook a little. "About half an hour later my grandmother died, her last words were, 'I've never been so proud of anyone in my life' . I had to stay home, my mother was in pieces and we had to organise everything. I couldn't bear returning to school, so I was away for months."
Gabby gulped for breath and felt a single tear slide down her cheek. She looked down, she hated being shown as vulnerable in front of people.

((lol my character is known to be a flirt at times like that when im not with someone.... it all depends on how things play out in the story.... I had a relationship on here a couple of months ago that ended along time before i thought it was going to.... you just gotta let the story play out.... yea im going to vote in a few hours.... Texas primary is today.... Im voting for Barack Obama to be the first black president...))
Ryan reached out and wiped the tear from her cheek and looked at her "Im very sorry" was all that he could really think to say.

Gabby smiled through her tears. "thanks, it's never easy. But I'm back at school now, I need to study hard and make my grand mother proud." Gabby looked into his eyes, holding his gaze for a while, wondering what would happen next.
((Flirting never hurt anybody.... I would also vote for Obama if a) I was old enough b) I actually lived there etc etc))

Gabby felt like her face was on fire and quickly let her hair swing down to shield her as she cooled off. Then deciding to be brave, she looked at Ryan, trying to discern his expression, holding her breath. Gabby probably knew it was stupid to hope, but she couldn't stop herself. ((Sorry I left that up to you, it's just I don't mind what happens either way, like if you flirt or not and dont really mean it or whatever lol, I would never do that but gabby's only a third year, so you can play it how ever you want. Just remember, shes very very pretty )) |

She knew she was attracted to him, but he was so much older and there had been rumours of him with a slytherin. She knew that unless Ryan started anything she would just be making a fool of herself. (( im 15, I did want to be a 4th year though, Hells only put me up to a 3rd oh well, i can pass as 17 though, looking older has good advantages.))
Gabby drew a sharp breath as indecision caught her. Should she tell the truth and risk embarrassment? Or lie and risk discovery? Gabby knew what she had to do.
"Ok, well I like you, a lot. I've only spent one afternoon with you and I knwo your older but you made me laugh. No one's been able to for months, i have no idea if you like me or you just think I'm a silly little girl. I hope you don't but..."
Gabby trailed off, she knew she sounded pathetic and she regretted her choice, but she had said it. She waited for Ryans reaction.
