Dru walked up the long staircase to the owlery, a folded piece of parchment in her hand. It had been quite a long time since she had written home, and she assumed her father was going to start worrying. It was a short letter, just saying she was fine and staying busy. She stared up at the school's owls, trying to find one that didn't look as though it would claw her hand to pieces if she touched it.

Dominic wandered up the stairs, wanting to check on his small owl. When he got to the owlery, there was someone else in there already, he began to leave, to leave them be, but he recognized her. "Dru!" he said, smiling, he hadn't seen her in months.

Dru turned around, "Nic!" she squealed, running up to him and wrapping him in a tight hug. "Where have you been?"

Dru grimaced at the look in his eyes and she took her arms from around him. "Gosh...last time I talked to you...let's see...I've had a boyfriend, who turned out to be a Death Eater, I've kinda got a new guy, but he's trying not to kiss every girl he sees...."

Dominic grimaced, "Dru...what's happened to you?" It was all he could think to say, and the idea of everything she had been through hurt him.

Dru looked at him strangely, "What do you mean?" His words hurt her slightly in some way and she crossed her arms tightly around her.

"Just...you've changed." The look in her eyes hurt Dominic, but he felt he had to say it. "The Dru that I grew up with would never have dated someone that has kissed every girl in school."
