"You're welcome," he said watching her. "You've made one friend today." He smiled kindly at her, a smile which quickly faded as he listened to her, "My parents aren't what I'm worried about, I have much worse things...." His voice faded away before he finished his thought and he looked down and closed all the compartments in his box, shutting it securely. "You don't like it here?" he asked, looking back up once more.

"I love it here."she said looking up right away."but I am glad I finally have a friend to talk to."She smiled."I just mean during the holidays."She said trying to say she is happy here."I would just stay during summer if I could.But when I go home they are happy for the first day.Then they turn on each other."she said looking out on the lake once more then back at him."I mostly try to stay away from them untill it blows over."she said."I fear they might divorce."She said sadly.

"I haven't seen my family in nearly a year," Dominic said, "Though I've gotten letters, and those aren't always good..." he trailed off again, thinking of one certain letter he had gotten which had nearly brought him back home. "One person in my family makes my and my cousins' lives miserable, that's why I moved here to live with a friend, though I almost regret it-" he stopped suddenly. It had been so long since he had talked to anyone about anything that everything was begging to bust out. "Have you tried telling them how you feel?" he asked.

"Yeah and it seems to work,"She said sadly."Then when we got out to eat together or something then they start up again and make me so embarressed."She said almost regreting telling him that she is usally never really oopen to anyone she just met.She started to smile."I remember this one time when I knew they really loved each other."She said still thinking back."When I wanted this gray kitten a first my mother said no but then my father said it would teach me reasponsablites and it did."She said her smile gradually fading."Then they found out I was a witch and they started going off about whos' fault it was."She said sadly."Like it was a mistake."She said looking out with tears in her eyes trying to blink away the tears."They acted as if me myself was a mistake."She sighed."They even said it in front of me."She said looking at him."It's like they don't even want me."she said sighing but not working."What am I suppost to do.They don't even write to me at hogwarts."She said her mood almost passing when she looked at the necklace in her hands."I am glad I have a frined to talk to."She said looking at him again then down at her hands.She smiled again.And sighed."I am okay ."She said smiling a little

Dominic listened to her quietly and once she stopped he paused for a moment. Then he took the necklace and dropped it around her neck. "They don't realize the special girl they have," he said. He put an arm around her back and, with his other hand, wiped an escaped tear from her cheek. "Some people don't realize what they have." He withdrew his arm and looked at her, "Though I would give nearly anything to have quarreling parents be all I have to worry about," he said without thinking.

When Rhyannon paused to think she felt something fall around her neck.She smiled and lifted it with her hand to look at it one more time.She smiled and nodded."I am glad you think that."She said one lonley tear dropping down her cheek.She smiled again as he wiped her tear off of her cheek and had his hand around her back."Thanks,"She smiled and leaned against the tree her back was faced to and relaxed shefelt clamed by his touch.She sighed.

"It looks good," he said, indicating the necklace. He watched her, thinking of everything yet nothing, all of his thoughts combining and fighting for space in the front of his mind, but none of them winning.

Rhyannon smiled."Thanks,"She said."My parents don't realize it hurts me too see them like this."She said sighing.What ever her parents were doing didn't matter as long as she wasn't alone.

"I know what you mean," he said, "No one would listen to 'us kids' whenever we'd tell them about what my uncle did." He was lost in memories, all of them bad, and he rubbed his chest where he had a long scar from his father's brother.

"Oh,I am sorry."She said leaning her head on his shoulder."So do you consider yourself the caretaker of you cousins?"She asked."I basically consider myself my little sisters's who was born last year.I am always arfaid to give her to mother.I don't know I she would hurt her."She asked pcking her head up of of his shoulder.She also brought her knees up but insead put her arms around them.

Dominic tensed slightly when she touched him. "Some sort of caretaker I am," he said, jumping up suddenly and grabbing a rock. He walked up to the edge of the water. "Left them all for him to do with whatever he pleases over in America." He hurled the rock as far as he could, not skipping it, just releasing some of the past few months' frustrations. It splashed into the water, ripples spreading out and reaching the shore.

"Well you had to come their is nothing you can do about that."she said standing."Maybe they will be fine.How long has this been going on?'She asked trying to help.But he seems to be resiting.If he doesn't tell her soon she feels like she is going to scream.

Dominic snorted, "It's been going on as long as I can remember." He snorted when she said they'd be fine and rounded on her. "Of course they'll be fine," he said sarcastically, "Yeah, right, he's already killed two of us!" His eyes were narrowed at her, the slight green he had kept with his metamorphmagus abilities fading into their natural deep liquid brown, and he was breathing hard.
