"Now that's a change," she said, "I usually get a laugh from saying that to someone." She turned her head to the side as she watched him. She was glad he hadn't wanted her to leave, she didn't want to be alone with her thoughts at that particular moment.

"I'm sorry. I'll be honest," he tool a moment to pick the right words to say what he wanted to say. Last thing he wanted was to come across as a superior jerk "For many years, I used to stick to titles, and labels people usually give to everyone. you know, like. From first impression. Someone sees you and immediately judges you by what they see or hear and give you a label. I would live up to those labels cause I thought they were true, cause they came from people who I've loved and who's opinion I respected. I later on, after departing them and mingling among others I realized how wrong were the things they've said. Coming back to school, to people who label you by your blood and by your house...Its just, for me its hard to not go back to my old ways when I'm a minority. I seek out desperately people who see things like I do and when I come across those who still label I fight back. Only cause I'm insecure of myself, I don't know if I'm strong enough to be here, hear you, or someone else talk in those term without falling apart".

"Ah," Dru said, smiling. "I didn't mean it like that, I try hard to not go by stereotypes. I mean, what I said, I've always been like that, even before I came here in my fifth year. Always been the nerd, it's fun to put out that image, then when people find out I'm completely obsessed with punkrock and things like that, it flips them out." She thought back, "Besides, if I went by house stereotypes, I wouldn't have went out with a slytherin." Her eyes widened and she looked down at the table, "Of course, that's one instance where I should have trusted the stereotype, they come from somewhere, you know? They're not just there for no reason." she said, glancing up at him.

"Yeah, I know. The sorting hat can't always be wrong" he joked "It saddens me though. I know from personal experience that people can actually change. If it wasn't for the houses, if we were all just students under one united roof we could learn so much from each other" he looked at her "So. You're saying you've had a bad experience with a slytherin? I'm very sorry to hear that. But that's men. I don't wanna be harsh on my sex but we are jerks, no matter what house we come from"

"It wasn't anything to do with his gender," she said, tucking her hair behind her ear, "It goes along with a particular Slytherin stereotype," her voice became quiet and she trailed off, thinking.

Horus frowned "Power hungry? self centered?" He looked at her body language and how closed up it was "If it's something you're uncomfortable talking about we can change the subject" he put a hand on her shoulder in what he thought was a reassuring gesture.

Dru thought for a moment and spoke carefully, "Well, we ended up on opposite sides of the attack at the party," she said slowly, running her finger along the spine of her book once again. "I'm an order member." She hoped he would be able to come to the conclusion that Michael was a Death Eater, she didn't know if she could say it. The party had not been very long before.

"oh my god. There was an attack on the boat?" He sat upright. Not having been at the party he had no idea. "What happened? Was anyone hurt?" Guess I was lucky after all for missing the boat party...

Dru looked at him for a second, confused, then realized he must have missed the boarding. "Yeah...two are de- gone," she couldn't bring herself to say that the two were dead. "I know there were a lot of injuries, filled up the hospital wing." Visions of the rows of beds filled her mind. "The death eaters just..attacked, I didn't see very much though, I was...preccupied."

"I can't believe it" He said frowning and looked into space. He remembered the night of the party, the meaningless fun and dancing they had. It was strange to know that at that very moment, somewhere else there was a battle of life and death. Where people got hurt, where people got killed. "How is it that I haven't heard anything about it till now?" It was so strange. He didn't see many people since the boat party but he figured the rumors would reach him. How can something like this not... He got completely sidetracked from the talk of Dru's boyfriend, "I...eh..."

Dru shrugged, "I dunno," she thought back, "I think everyone's probably been trying to just sort things out." In the hours right after the attack she had been so shocked she could barely speak, she had felt lost and useless. She wrapped her arms around herself and fixed her stare onto the wood of the table.

"But the paper would surely have posted something about this attack. I mean, it's death eaters. It's a big thing. I've been reading old issues of the prophet. silly romance gossip there's aplenty, but nothing of this? something doesn't click for me"

"I actually think something happened to the gossip columnist..Gaby?" she thought, crunching up her forehead, "I saw some attack going on with her in it, I'm thinking...."

"Oh. I see" He still thought it was strange. This Gaby couldn't have been the only writer for the paper. If she got hurt couldn't someone else have written the news instead? But he didn't inquire further on the subject. Dru didn't know much more then he did on the mystery and she wasn't in a right state to be questioned.

"Sorry I don't know anything else. During the attack I was dealing with the whole Michael thing, then afterwards I was in the hospital wing, see, I'm the nurse, that was not fun," she said, glancing up at him. Then she realized she had given Michael's name and looked back down at the table, tracing the grains with her eyes.
