Vannah started to wander through the halls. Sh was supposed to be in Defense Against the Dark Arts, but she felt it was a useless class. Why block the very thing she's trying to increase? She couldn't remember the last time she was in Defense Against The Dark Arts....or any class for that matter.

Michael was walking towards the library during a free period, hoping no one was in the corridoors, he really didn't feel like a conversation with anyone. He glanced up as he turned a corner and saw a girl walking towards him. Wonderful, he thought to himself, just what I need.

Vannah heard footsteps in the hall. Perfect, she thought, some one to torture. Her head shot up instantly. Ugh...another Slytherin. She thought. She didn't bother messing with Slytherins. With the exception of Chase. "Who are you?" She asked, her eyes narrowing.

"None of your business," he said, looking her up and down. "Out of my way." He started to push past her, not knowing what he would do if they got into a conversation, especially with the tone of her voice.

Vannah rolled her eyes, but didn't move. She held her ground. "Who. the. freakin.hell. are.you?" She asked, her voice sharp and stern. She wasn't in the mood for games.

Michael raised his eyebrow and shook his head, "Why do you need to know?" he asked, stopping and leaning against the wall with his arms crossed. His face was calm and his voice even.

Vannah shrugged. "It's a deciding factor on whether I should kick your ass or not." She said casually, matching his expression.

A genuine smile broke across Michael's face. "You really think you could beat me?" he grinned and shook his head, looking at her frame.

Vannah crossed her arms and walked over to him. "I know I can beat you." She said grinning mischeviously.

"Well," he reasoned, "If you're meaning make me laugh so hard I get a stitch in my side and fall over, then perhaps." He looked down into her eyes, a smirk playing on his lips.

Vannah raised her eyebrow. She stepped back, her arms still crossed. She flicked her wand quickly and easily and silently muttered Expelliarmus!. A stream of light shot out from Vannah's wand and knocked Michael's out of his hand.

Michael rolled his eyes, "Sweetie, I don't have my wand in my hands, even if I did, that spell wouldn't be strong enough to do so much as make me fumble with it." He had recognized the feel of the spell hitting him, making his wand jerk in his pocket.

Vannah shrugged. "A. Don't talk down to me. You're most likely barely a year older than me." She said. "2. I don't battle people by throwing disarming spells." She said matter-of-factly.

"Stop with the brovado, if you didn't battle like that, it wouldn't have been the first thing to come to your mind," he said, yawning. "You're just a coward anyway, shooting spells at someone without a wand drawn."

"It wasn't the first thing to come to my mind. It was to show you I would do something." Vannah explained. She stopped and spun to face him. "I don't need to explain myself to a piece of dirt stuck to a wall."
