Cedric Diggory: Played by: Robert Pattinson The tall, good-looking Hufflepuff champion who is murdered at the end of Goblet Of Fire. Always guided by a sense of fair play, offered Gryffindor a rematch in PoA after Harry fell off his broom due to the dementors, and refused to take the Triwizard cup without Harry. Memorable quote: "Take a bath, okay? And, er, take the egg with you." VS. Lord Voldemort Played by: Ralph Fiennes The villain of the piece, Voldemort, who at the start of the series is something of a phantom, a personification of evil, gains depth as the books progress. We find out about his childhood in a muggle orphanage, how he rose to be head boy of Hogwarts, applied for the DADA teacher's post, and gathered the Death Eaters around him. Memorable quote: ""We bow to each other, Harry," said Voldemort, bending a little, but keeping his snakelike face upturned to Harry. "Come, the niceties will be observed.... Dumbledore would like you to show manners.... Bow to death, Harry...."

I will have to go with Cedric on this one. He was outstanding and Kind to have done what he did.

This is hard. Do we go for "better" in the literary sense (How they are written) or the good vs evil sense? Certainly Cedric is the kindest out of the pair and impressive in his own right (Or at Hogwarts at least.) However, He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named made the bigger impression on other wizards.
I'm going to go with Voldemort on this one. Certainly we haven't seen as much as Cedric as we have with Voldemort (and not likely to see anymore of Cedric seeing as he's dead) but we have learnt about Voldemort's background and so forth, so I'm going to say that he, out of the pair of them, is the better HP character.
Now I've made my head hurt.

*gasp* Ceddy!! My love *swoon* Heheh... But, I'd have to go with Voldemort... Must say, he's the only villain in a book/series so far that manage to creep me out...

Cedric is a good guy, but when it comes to depth of character, Tom has this one in the bag. Ceddy wasn't old enough to have the...layers that Tom did. Yes, that's right. Voldie is like an onion. Even if you put aside the layers thing, they both stink and they'll make you cry if you stick around long enough.
