Relaxing and catching up (The Return continued)

[Tom Blair]

Tom and Tifa made their way to the picture of the fruit. Almost without thinking, Tom tickled the pear and they went in. A few house elves quickly ran up to them. "Welcome back Master Tom Blair!" they said. Looks like I am still in charge of them, he thought.

"Good to be back. Say could you get us some - uh - sandwiches? I'm pretty hungry and Tifa probably is too."

"Right away sir!" they said and ran off to make them.

"So what all has happened in the past few months?" he asked, turning to Tifa and pulling up a chair.

Shutting the door behind them she pulled up a chair across from him and frowned slightly.

"Well basically after you and Hermione left Rebecca Wagner dissapeared and then more than a month later she just came back, but she was different I don't know why cause then I never saw her again." she said thinking back to the past.

"And then well there was this huge problem with a love potion and garbage and so me and Alfred just broke up, I'm not sure why he left, but shortly after he took off, and then I could have sworn I saw him around every once in a while, but he hasn't tried to take over the school, I'm more than willing to attack if I have to." she said with a shrug then her face turned dark and she felt like she was about to cry.

"And... and then Serenity died, she just left me and I just couldn't take it so I left everyone, I left my boyfriend who I met after Alfred, I left my friend Rinoa who also left shortly after, I havn't even spoken to my mom in ages, and I just came back, the castle seems different almost empty." she said with a sigh shaking her trying to put on a forced smile but failed.

"I don't think things are going to be the same anymore." she said playing around with her wand.

"Doesn't sound like they will," Tom replied, thinking about it. It was then that he remembered that Spencer Pottergit had been going out with Tifa once. Maybe he shouldn't have called Spencer a git in front of her. But she seemed to not like him much any more. Maybe he had used the love potion on her. He knew better than to ask about it though - it seemed like a sensitive topic.

Tom certainly wasn't sorry that Serenity had died, but he was curious about it. "How did Serenity die?" he asked. "Battle between the Order and the Death Eaters?"

“It was after the whole mishap that happened; she got this letter and just took her life.” She said tears in the corners of her eyes, she changed Tom, I only started to get to know her better and then she left, she is after all my cousin.” Tifa said looking away from him wiping a few of the tears that leaked out.

"I'm sorry," he said. He had always grown up thinking all Slytherins were evil, but he was grown up now, and he couldn't keep seeing things that black and white if he wanted to survive in this world. There were surely some good Slytherins. Take Severus Snape. He turned out alright in the end. "I only really knew her as another Death Eater," he admitted. Just then a couple of the house elves arrived to break the tension and bring the sandwiches - two per person. Tom thanked them and took a bite, it was very good.

"So has anything good happened?" he asked brightly.

Tifa thought for a while smiled and nodded her head.
"Well my best friend from when we were little kids came here, I havn't seen her since we were really young and then she came back, although I havn't seen her in a while." she said.
"And then you came back so thats also a good thing, if we lost you then the order woudl have lost a really good wizard." she said smiling brightly.

"Thanks," he said with a little smile. He sat back - there didn't seem to be much more to say. So he just asked, "How's the sandwich?"

Tifa took a bite and after swallowing she grinned.
"The best I've had in ages." she said grinning.
"Hey Tom havn't you noticed soemthing different about the school."she said frowining slightly.

"Other than it being virtually empty?" he replied. "No."

She nodded her head. "It's kind of scary when you think about it Hogwarts is usually flooded with students, it unavoidable to come in contact with someone you never met.
