Name: Catherine Blaire Iversen
Description:Approximately 5’9”, Catherine has a very regal air about her. Tall and slim, she is beautiful to look at, and when it is achieved, her smile is one that can stop you in your tracks. She has smokey-blue eyes, though a lot of people tend to describe them as steel, both in color and emotion.
When she’s at school, Catherine keeps her hair pitch black and curly. A lot of the time it’s up in a bun or in a pony-tail. She wears very professional clothes, always looking pristine and very “no-nonsense”. She tends to wear a very smug look, and keeps her chin up, never smiling. During the day, Catherine certainly does not seem like a pleasant person. Her looks do not contradict her in any way, shape, or form, actually. When someone is talking to her and, in her mind, making a bit of a fool out of themselves, her expression turns into a sneer that lets them know exactly how disgusted they make her.
But when she lets her Blaire part come out? Completely different story. Her hair is different shades of blonde, sometimes even with different color streaks in it. Her clothing choice is quite, well, different from during the day. Wearing clothes that show off her slim yet rather curvy body, she wears what many people seem to think is the bare minimum, but she loves it. She lives for the stares they bring, whether those stares come from women who are throwing some rather foul words to each other about her, or if they come from men who are drooling over her. Of course, one is definitely preferable to the other.
Personality:
You may think that you know Catherine Blaire Iversen, but you’re almost always wrong. You may know a part of her, but you don’t know all of her.
Here’s the thing:
Catherine Blaire Iversen changes.
During the day, she only goes by Catherine. Not Cathy, not Cat, not ‘Rin, Catherine. Call her anything else, and you’re in for a little bit of, well, let’s call it a “stern talking to.” Catherine is very “In your face” about a lot of things, believing that she knows much more than anyone else. The most annoying part is, she usually is right. She’s quite intelligent and she studies like crazy, so she is right on top of all of her topics. She’s a snob, and there’s not really another word that describes her. Her snobbery makes it so she has very few friends, and she acts like that doesn’t hurt her, but it truly does.
At night though, while a lot of the time she stays in, sometimes she sneaks out to Salem and lives the life of a superstar; a party girl. She changes her hair (she’s been studying glamour charms ever since she first came to school, struggling to master them in her spare time) so no one recognizes her, then her makeup. She never tells anyone her first name, so anyone she meets at night simply knows her as "Blaire". No last name, nothing. Just "Call me Blaire." She can walk into the dance hall with her chin held high and her hips swaying, no matter how many people are staring at her. She looks like she’s of age, and no one has ever had a problem with her being in there, as long as nothing overly illegal happens. She keeps that outside of the view of the bouncers and owners.
At night, for lack of a better term, she uses people. She uses them to forget her own problems, and most of the time, for a little while, it works. She uses them for her own personal gain, never truly bothering to think about them and their feelings. She’s had multiple one-night-stands even at her young age, and she’s always the one to leave, not them.
Every night she goes out, she has the time of her life, and the next morning, she acts as if none of it has ever happened.
Background:
Catherine Blaire Iversen is the only child of extraordinarily wealthy Christopher and Bridget Iversen, and they raised her exactly how they thought a “perfect pure-blood” ought to be raised. They buy her only the best of anything, and sent her to school after school after school to teach her the proper etiquette for being a pure-blood. Yes, Christopher and Bridget are very pro-pure-blood, and very anti-muggle. Catherine mostly agrees with their ideals, and even more strongly dislikes muggle borns and half bloods. Yet, she sometimes pretends otherwise to anger her mother. Never her father.
She has always been prissy and perfect around her parents, and most of the time, she’s quiet. Not that “just-sit-in-a-corner-and-not-talk-to-anyone” quiet, but rather the type of quiet that people see and decide to not talk to you, because you just don’t seem to want to talk. So she sits, silently watching the room as her parents snobby friends tell her parents just how “perfectly pure-blood” she is, and how proud her parents must be. Her parents always responded with the same old boring line, something about how they know or something along those lines… After about 16 years, those lines grow so monotonous that they get tuned out.
When Catherine was about 7, her parents signed her up for a modeling agency, and ever since, she’s been getting random offers that she goes for. Modeling is actually one of the few things she enjoys when she’s home. None of the fancy parties, the prissy dinners, the evening meetings, none of them are her type of scene. But modeling gives her a chance to be somebody else with the full approval of her parents.
Then there came school. Though her parents still live in San Francisco and she stays there over the summers, they sent her to school in Hogwarts. From her first day in school, Catherine has striven to ensure that she was the best in everything she did. She studied all the time, which wasn’t a problem, considering she had no friends, and therefore no social life. People who seem even more stuck up than should be possible don’t tend to have a ton of friends. And Catherine fit that personality perfectly. Stuck-up and slightly hated.
Except maybe for a few loyal friends. The only ones she let down her walls and smiled for.
Anything Else: Not particularily, although I’d rather not have her in hufflepuff.
Where you heard of us: A friend. Uses the same computer as me sometimes, goes by Skye Levine on the site.
