Lafra paused not speaking for a moment deciding whether to keep it ambiguous or not. "He was a Death Eater as well. Killed his wife almost did the same to his own daughter," Lafra paused once more before continuing. "Caius was a bastard. It's good he's gone." Lafra almost sounded bitter, but she held back any emotion she was really feeling. "If society prefers a murderer over what you've listed I don't see why anyone would want to be a part of that." Lafra peered through the shelf but only barely caught brightly colored hair.

"Well, my aunt's husband was likely a murderer," Kit said. "Just because he never got caught doesn't mean his hands were clean." He paused, thinking. "Oh, I believe I heard somewhere that he tried to kill his own son, my cousin. Him and his... partner." He liked the both of them. It was still strange to say, though.
"I was sheltered from them, for all the good it did, but I've sought my cousin out and find him rather interesting. I am sorry to hear about your own tragedy. It sounds as though you were closer to it than I was to mine."

Lafra shook her head she wasn't surprised, but it was sad how much hate surrounded society. Her mind went back to the names it almost sounded like her cousins friends who were the reason why her cousin was kept save over the summer. Lafra decided to come around the aisle to be face to face with him. "Tragedy seems to follow all of us. Especially when Death Eaters are involved."

Kit stood face to face with the girl, no safe shelf of mildly interesting objects and potions between them. Only for a moment, though. Then His gaze dropped to the suddenly fascinating toes of his boots. He pulled a quick, shallow breath and searched for conversation. "I prefer to get away from it all," he said. He'd told her that, hadn't he? "Far away. Society can't follow me windsurfing or paragliding, after all." Both Muggle sports, actually.

"Everything is easier when you're far away from corruption," Lafra looked at him, but there was no eye contact he kept his gaze averted. The two things he mentioned were foreign to her and her brows came together in confusion. "What is windsurfing and paragliding. Sounds fun," and very different. Was it some wizarding game she never heard of? Some new sport everyone was playing? Lafra was so reserved she wouldn't be surprised if that was the case.

Kit glanced up, and when he realized he'd stopped breathing he looked away again, clearing his throat. "Water sports," he replied. "Muggle ones. Rather exciting, but if my parents knew they'd have simultaneous aneurysms. My brother's first in line and all, but we're close enough in age that I get nearly as much restriction with no more real freedom." Why was he talking so much? He really shouldn't be.

Muggle water sport, that was one was to rebel. She gave him a small smile sensing that he was feeling either shy or very uncomfortable. Either way, she turned to the shelf not really looking at anything in particular. "That's one way to rebel. I wonder if I should take up muggle water sports. Sounds exhilarating," there was nothing wrong with the occasional adrenaline rush. And just based on how the sports sounded she imagined them to be on the dangerous side.

Kit managed to look up once she'd turned away. "It... it is," he said. "They are," he corrected. "I was thinking I might go scuba diving before the weather turns too cold. Without magic, of course, it's rather exciting doing such things without the aid of magic. You have to rely on such unfamiliar and really fascinating things..."

She looked over at him with a curious expression. "I can't imagine not using my wand. You're not terrified are you?" she could tell he was really into the sports. "How did you find out about these sports?" it made her wonder how he came across muggle sports. Being from society it wasn't everyday one would be caught talking to a muggle.

"Oh, here and there," Kit said. "Exploring, overhearing, asking around. Once you've found something you can usually ask someone who's into it what else they'd recommend. As for the terror, adrenaline is adrenaline when you get down to it." He looked down at his hands rather at her. "Usually I'll go out with my brother, we're a little competitive, but it's all in good fun."

Lafra was never very adventurous, unlike her cousin, but the way he described it was enough to make her curious. She couldn't see herself doing such extreme sports; she was too much of a wuss for that. "I feel like it's something you do in pairs or as a group," something like that sounded fun with more people; not quite what she was accustomed to.
Lafra was more aware of him not making eye contact. "I find your passion and shyness adorable," she teased the corner of her lips turning up as she grabbed a vial.

Kit's attempts at cool withered beneath a suddenly fierce blush. "You... you do?" he asked, even before the words had truly sunk in. Adorable. If there was anything he didn't want to be, it was adorable. Or poor. He didn't want to be poor, either. Or dead. Well, adorable was on the list, anyway.
"I'm not shy," he attempted. "Just... reticent about appearing too bold or overly forward in the presence of a lady."

His reaction was nothing short of her expectations. Lafra pretended to be busy with the vial in her hand, but in reality, she was aware of him. "You must get that from society. God forbid we be too bold," she was smiling as she placed the vial back down and turned to face him.

"God forbid we should offend someone and be thought a fool," Kit said. He was bold, daring, and all the things he wished to be. When he was alone, or with his brother. This girl was related to the Seyrrous, and therefore he ought to behave. This had nothing to do with his complete inability to talk to females as though they were actually human.

"I'm hard to offend," she moved to the adjacent shelves her back to him hiding her amused smile. She wasn't sure why she was being so teasing. It may have something to do with being home all the time the past few months and being out and talking to strangers; that was her adrenaline rush.
