"The seventh floor is just lovely," Ly said, linking her arm in the Mouse's. "You can see all across the forest. This damnable place doesn't have much going for it except the views." It was strange sometimes thinking how comfortable she was being away from her brother, but perhaps it wasn't the worst thing to ever happen to them. "And there are new views all the time." She glanced over at him and reached up with her free hand to pluck at his hair.

Aerion shrank away from that touch to his hair, though he didn't quite take enough room to get his arm back. He had a feeling that would only make her more predatory than she already was. "Please respect my personal space," he said, whether she'd listen or not. Anger only seemed to make the blondes happy.

"Oh, so polite, you should have done that earlier," Ly said, leaving her arm comfortably in his. "I'm curious, why are you in this school?" She wasn't quite the sexual predator her brother was, but she was curious. Her housemates had been entirely unsatisfactory overall. Of course, the first one she met, that girl with the stupid muggle device, had put a bad taste in her mouth from the start.

"Family drama," Aerion replied, "and I was perfectly polite. My brother is the a~hole." Well, perhaps he'd been more quiet than actively polite, but it did little good to interrupt Asher during a fit of any kind. He'd have liked to slip away without being noticed at all, but he supposed that at least he hadn't gotten the potential rapist twin. He wished his brother good luck with that. Sort of.

"Ah, drama, that's why we're here. Our parents thought it would do us good. Well, we did run off so many tutors, but is that any reason to lock us away in a dingy dungeon?" Even worse, it was a dingy dungeon where she and her brother were separated. Ly's nose wrinkled briefly, but she quickly smoothed over her features.

"My parents are... indisposed," Aerion said. They were in f~ing prison, but that wasn't something he wanted spread around. "My sisters didn't want us, so here we are." They should be home, in their own quarters. They should be trying to convince Mother to let them have new robes and take them to a ball. Asher would likely get distracted trying to dance with girls, and that would leave Aerion to start making connections, showing Society that he was the Blackwood who mattered.

"Indisposed, sisters who do not want you, an abusive brother...such a harsh life," Ly said, looking over at him. "Are you pureblood?" She didn't care that some people were offended by the question. No, she would ask if she wanted to ask, and that was that.

Aerion obliged by looking mildly offended. "Of course," he said. "I'm assuming you are." Otherwise she likely wouldn't have asked such a thing. "I've never had anything to do with Halfbloods, Mudbloods, and Muggles. I really don't know what my sister was doing sending us here."

"Mmm, talk Purist to me, I like it," Ly said, grinning. "The first person my brother and I met when we came here was this little idiotic girl who claimed to be a Slytherin. She came into our compartment on the train with some stupid muggle device. Naturally, we convinced her to destroy it." They'd ended up with a detention, too, but it had been fun.

"Naturally," Aerion said, looking at the girl somewhat curiously. "My name is Aerion," he said after a moment. "I don't care what you call my brother." He suddenly looked away, down the corridor they walked, potentially toward the Headmaster's office. "I'm not coming on to you," he promised.

Ly looked over at Aerion, debating. For a moment, just a breath, she considered giving him her true name, but she quickly squashed that thought. "You can call me Lida," she said, "and come onto me all you like." To be honest, she'd never been with a guy, but playing back and forth could be fun at times, she'd found.

Aerion didn't know if he blushed, but he felt heat steal up the back of his neck, and it wasn't comfortable in the least. He cleared his throat briefly, giving himself that much time to think of something to say.
"I was going to the Headmaster's office," he said, changing the subject entirely. "I don't see much point in that right now, but somehow I doubt I'll find my brother in the dormitory. Am I right?" He didn't look at her this time.

"Oh, that just depends. Is your brother interested in men? You know, there is this room, called the Room of Requirement, where you might be more likely to find the two if he is," Ly said. It didn't bother her at all to think of her brother taking someone to bed, though she had the feeling her brother would be less accommodating of any guy she bedded.

Aerion didn't say a word to that. He simply looked forward down the corridor and wished he hadn't asked. When a stairwell approached on the left, he slowed down. "Maybe I'll go to the dormitory after all," he said. He had packing to do, and the faster he packed, the faster he could leave. His brother could fend for himself.

"Do you even know the way to the dormitory?" Ly asked as she slowed to a stop and turned to Aerion. "It took me ages to learn my way around this hellhole. There are moving staircases and shifting doors, and the portraits only laugh when you're lost. You could stay with me, instead." She lifted an arm to rest her forearm on his shoulder, her fingers playing lightly in his hair, no matter his request for personal space.
