"Good for you," Jory said. "Are you friends with your ex? Do you hang out and have a nice chat with his boyfriend?" He doubted it, the world didn't work that way. Astra hopped anxiously and Jory finally moved forward and knelt to attempt calming her. "I'm moving on, I don't need you to help me or whatever it is you're trying to do." He stood, the bundle of fur in his arms.

Keith sighed and rolled his eyes. "Okay, whatever. I'll see you around," he said, shaking his head. He rounded the pair, making sure the dog couldn't take a flying leap at him or anything, then headed up toward the castle. It was too cold to stay outside and argue.

Jory glared after Keith, but didn't respond. Maybe he was bitter. A little. Once Keith was far enough away, he sat down Astra again with a scratch on the ears, then started walking again, heading toward the lake. Spending a little more time outside sounded like a good choice right now.
