"You won't get some of them cleared out during the day, but if you wanted to come at a different time, you know, late at night or early in the morning, it wouldn't be a big deal to clear out a bit," Rhys said. He usually wasn't at the shelter around those times, but he had been around a handful of times, enough to know what it was like when most of the kids were asleep.

Dare nodded. He thought he was more likely to make it late than early. "I'll ask when's the latest I can come in before we go," he said. Either way, he wasn't taking a cab if Rhys wasn't with him. Those things were worse than the Knight Bus sometimes. At least he knew the Knight Bus wouldn't actually hit anything.

"I'll come with you, if you need me to, I can come up with some excuse to clear out anyone hanging out," Rhys said. It would be pretty easy with how well known he was around the shelter. "I swear, they're going to put a plaque up for you or something," he teased. Dare might be forever remembered as the windowmaster.

Dare flushed again, but grinned and shook his head all the same. "People really underestimate Transfiguration," he said. He didn't think he deserved a plaque for it, but he'd certainly found a calling besides his art. How many times had he used Transfiguration for something besides the parlor tricks people thought it was good for?
"Thanks for bringing me to this place," he told Rhys. "It feels good helping out, you know?"

"Yeah, it's great," Rhys said, nodding. "It helped me a lot, being here. It was really hard at first, it was hard for a long time, but it's gotten better in the past few months." Since he'd started therapy and pills. He glanced up at Dare, wondering if he'd catch the connection. It had been incredibly difficult at times to help the kids, but he'd managed somehow.

"Everyone needs some help sometimes," Dare said. Yes, he'd caught it, and made his own connection as well. He'd finally been worked off his potions, with help this time, and he knew how lucky he was. "You made it through Hell, Rhys. Welcome to the other side."

A smile pulled at the corner of Rhys' mouth and he nodded. "Yeah, looks like it," he said. Some days were harder than others, but over all he was much better than he had been at the beginning of the year. He was distracted from any other thoughts he might have had by the owner coming up to them.
The man wasn't old, but neither was he young, in his forties with sandy, ever lightening hair, wearing khakis and a polo. He looked like any other man they might see walking down the streets of London. "Hey guys," he said, stopping in front of them. "Before you get to work, we have something for you."
