"I do not understand well," Hyacinth admitted. "I know that we are to love and be kind, that temptation is not a sin. It is a trial. It is the act which is sinful. I know little. It is like my English. I only have this much." He held up his hand, thumb and forefinger a small space apart as he looked aside at Jory. "I want to know more, but I have no priest to confess or ask."

"I don't know of any wizard priests," Jory said. "I mean, I'm sure there are, just no one in my family was ever super religious. I'm glad you're trying to get more information, though. Most people just don't care. Have you thought anymore about telling your parents?" He knew it had been an issue before, but he wasn't sure if anything new had come up.

"Yes," Hyacinth said definitively. "I do not want to lose my parents, and so I will wait for Professor laSalle. I do not like to lie, it hurts and God does not like it, but maybe we can tell them so they will accept?" That was Professor laSalle's hope and intention. "I want the lie to end, but I will be patient. It is good that I stay at Hogwarts now."

"I hope it goes fine when you tell them," Jory said. He couldn't imagine lying to his parents about something so important, but his parents were really accepting and easy going about things. "Maybe if you go with a professor it'll help." A professor could help explain things a little better and perhaps put things in a way Hyacinth's parents could accept.

"Professor laSalle says that he will make others go to tell." Hyacinth forced himself to pause and take his time with the words. "He has sent owls to Beauxbatons. He wants to find out what happened when I was eleven, so they can tell different this time. He said that they will not say Hogwarts is magic if my parents are angry." If they objected, if they were frightened or otherwise would not accept.

"I can't believe Beauxbatons just let you not come," Jory said. "From what I've heard it can be dangerous if you don't learn to control your magic. I mean, there are stories of people going crazy and losing control and hurting people and stuff." There were few like that, but he guessed that was because very few people went without learning to control magic for very long.

Hyacinth's eyes widened as he looked at Jory. "Going crazy?! Ahh, that is scary!" He didn't really know what had happened, but he crossed himself and sent up a brief prayer of gratitude that his instructor at school had known what was happening. Of course, a lot of Jory's stories were a bit fantastical, and many of them were frightening, but he supposed that it was better he knew. Maybe.

"You're fine, I swear. You've got a wand now and you're learning how to use it right, so you don't need to worry." As far as Jory knew, adult wizards never had to worry about losing control of their magic. "I'm glad Hogwarts picked you up, though, you're cool." It was nice having friends again.
