"Actually, Eros sent me to bring you back to the tower," Mano said. He couldn't help but be curious. What was it that made some people break down entirely and some thrive after such an event? "I'm not entirely certain Michael is functioning well enough to send anyone anywhere."

"Mhm," Dare hummed around a bite of cake. That was why nothing ever happened between them. Michael stuck somewhere and wouldn't move, and he was thinking about how much he wanted to be unstuck. Well, both of them were right where they wanted to be now.
"Why the hell does Eros want me at the tower anyway?" he asked.

"You'll have to talk to him about that," Mano said. He wasn't about to say we want to make the two of you relive your breakup and risk Dare running off instead of agreeing. It could be explained when both Dare and Michael were in the tower together. Possibly without wands.

Dare looked back up at Mano, evaluating, but unable to find an answer to his questions. Darned Society Purebloods and their training, all he could see was that Mano knew more than he'd say, and he could have guessed that anyway.
"This is the first time I've eaten since yesterday afternoon and I'm running on a few hours' sleep," he said, raising another forkful of cake. "Does Michael need me, or does Eros want me?"

"Both, but as it seems you no longer particularly care how Michael is I'm not sure if that increases my chances of getting you to go or not," Mano said. "Besides, you were energetic enough a minute ago to survive a trip to the castle."

"You killed the afterglow," Dare explained. He still felt great, but this was a definite damper on his mood. Besides, he hadn't meant that vague sense of need that Michael almost always radiated, and he was sure that was what Mano was talking about. "Is Michael in immediate danger?" he asked, rephrasing. Yes, this was definitely a mood-killer. But the cake was awesome.

Mano thought for a moment, then decided that being vague and noting key details was a good idea. "Eros took his wand. As I said, I left them last night." He didn't know how Michael was holding up after a night with Eros, though he was sure that Michael was likely much better than he had been when they first showed up.

Dare narrowed his eyes slightly. The words said that something was wrong, but the actions didn't match up. Why hadn't Gilda come for him? Why had Mano left and returned to his shop if it was that bad? He'd been around these people too long, when he was so suspicious. "Fine," he said, trading his fork for his wallet. He dropped a tip on the table, then lifted his hips to tuck his wallet away again.

"Thank you," Mano said, nodding. Dare's acceptance was a weight off his shoulders. His expression turned sour for a moment, however, when he realized that this meant he had no choice but to relive that painful memory. It was not going to be a fun day.
