Kane verified that Jory's safety was important, and that he shouldn't feel obligated to put himself into danger for any reason. When one's friends were going through difficult times it was good to support them, but the impression Jory gave him was not of friends at all. In fact, he didn't know how to categorize their relationship. With as horrible as it seemed Lyric had been to Jory and as little time as they'd actually spent together, he was unsure why they had any contact at all.
