Lyric shook his head. He didn't know what professional student meant, but it had to have something to do with school, and he hated school. He hated sitting in class pretending to pay attention and having his Prefect guards remind him to do his homework. He couldn't even remember half the stuff he'd read at the bottom of the page. No, as far as he was concerned, he didn't have a future anyway. How long could he really stay clean like this?

And nothing. If Aiden considered it odd, he didn't let it show. He mentally marked getting out of school off of the things to talk to Trent about list. "So, you spend all your free time in the library watching the snow? If I could see, I'd definitely be out on the pitch, the walls get kind of...I don't know, stuffy sometimes."

Lyric wasn't really interested in the library either, but it was warm and dry, and had a good view. When the weather was better, anyway. What did he do all day? He wasn't even sure. He went to class, he waited for Prefects, it took hours to get his homework done, no matter how little he had. "I guess so," he said. "I'd rather be outside, but..." He shrugged and gestured toward the window.

Aiden nodded in agreement. "Well, when it stops we'll have to celebrate by running outside. I'll have to get you to help me with that spell, though. Unless you want to see my method of defrosting my feet or something." Yes, he had a method. He couldn't stay out of the wet just because it was a little uncomfortable. He had it down to a science.

Lyric's lips curved slightly. "I can teach it to you," he said. His hand stilled against Shadow, whose loud purr had tempered to a satisfied rumble. "I'm not really busy." His homework was done, and there wasn't much left but waiting for night to sleep it off and do it all again.

Aiden smiled at the return of Trent's smile. "Yeah? I mean, I know it, I just can't get it right." He glanced around what he could see of the library. "I don't think the librarian would want us doing it in here, though," he said, bringing his eyes back to Trent. Considering the weather, most other places were probably already taken. Namely, the Room of Requirement.

"I know a place," Lyric said, glancing off toward the library doors. "Well, everyone knows it. We could try the Room of Requirement." He looked back at Aiden now, trying to hide the hopeful feeling that likely showed anyway. He hoped as well that Aiden didn't take it the wrong way, considering what so many of the students used the Room for. "I mean, to practice the spell," he clarified, needed or not.

"We can give it a shot," Aiden said. "It's probably taken, but maybe we'll get lucky." If getting lucky and room of requirement in the same conversation could have meant anything other than simply getting the room away from someone else for a little while, it didn't really click for Aiden. That was never something that was high in his mind. As a matter of fact, it usually held a low, all but insignificant place in his thoughts. "Well, then, let's go," he said, then pushed himself up to stand.

Lyric blocked off any part of his mind that might have found innuendo in that statement, despite any advice Kane might have given him to try letting his thoughts come. He didn't want to think like that, so he made himself stand up, leaving a groggy Shadow to glare at the interruption. If you don't like it, go find someone else to sit on. Either the cat couldn't read minds as well as it seemed sometimes or he felt like being vindictive, because that bushy tail flicked and he followed right after them.
