Dare had no clue what they were going to say. It was weird even being here, remembering what they'd talked about the day before and accepting that he hadn't dreamed it all. He just thanked all that was good in the world that they'd be talking to Professor laSalle, and not Professor Medina. He had no doubt that the woman would have helped them, but he just got along with Professor laSalle better. She had a way of putting people at ease.
He didn't see her, though. "Professor laSalle?" he called, then, remembering that he was a professor now, forced himself to call Laila too, just in case.

Michael wasn't sure what was going to be said or how they should bring it up, so he had brought a page with the information just in case. It was strange being back in the school again, but he supposed he should get used to it again. At least they wouldn't have to wait all day to see each other now. If this went well and they went on with it quickly seeing each other often would be even more important.

Abigail had been in the back, still acquainting herself with her new surroundings, when her wards told her that someone had gone through them. She set aside the potions she had been alphabetizing and headed into the hospital wing, curious about who her first patient would be.
She was surprised to see not one, but two young men who looked rather nervous. "Laila isn't here right now," she said. "I'm Abigail Reynolds, and I'll be working as Healer here. How might I help you?"

Dare blinked in surprise at the change, and it took him a moment to realize she'd said Healer, and not nurse. He glanced aside at Michael, unsure all over again, as though his insecurity had ever faded to begin with. Then he looked back to the new Healer and cleared his throat.
"We have a question," he said. It sounded so simple that way, and it was anything but. "It's about some really obscure magic. I don't know if you can help us, but we weren't sure where else to go." He looked at Michael again.

"This was all I was able to find," Michael said, holding out the page he was now very glad he had brought. "There wasn't a lot written about it, there wasn't even any hints of where to look." It felt incredibly awkward bringing this up with someone he had never met, but then, if he had gotten through his sessions with Kane, this would be a piece of cake.

Abigail smiled at the two, one of whom was so young she thought he might be a student. "I would be glad to help," she said, taking the paper. "If it is about medical magic and I don't know the answer, I would be happy to help you find—oh," she said, realizing what the paper said. Her cheeks flushed at the subject, but she pulled herself together before she looked up at her visitors again wonderingly. Well, if they need help, I'm not going to refuse, no matter how odd I might find it. There was no telling what kind of information they might find if they looked in disreputable places, and she would be certain that they got reliable information. "I haven't heard of this before," she said apologetically.

There was no missing her first reaction, and Dare mentally pulled back. "If you can't help us, we can look somewhere else," he said, offering her an easy out. He wished that Professor laSalle had been here. Maybe he'd just check back at another time and talk to her when she was in. There was no use trying to get help out of someone whose disapproval he could imagine, if not actually feel. He wasn't at all desperate enough to push, not at this point.

Michael felt the reaction, and he wasn't entirely willing to let it go quickly, however much he didn't want to force anything on anyone. "I hadn't, either. We were hoping you would be able to point us in the right direction, at least," he said. It wouldn't be the first time they had met with a setback if she couldn't, but it would be nice to get a break.

Abigail gave the young man a warm smile. "Of course I can help you," she said. As strange as it sounded, she was curious about this strange bit of magic. "Before we get started, could I have your names? And why is it that you're interested in this?" She could be wrong about why they wanted to know. Maybe it was a summer project for a class.

Dare glanced at Michael again, then straightened slightly as he looked at the Healer. "Dare and Michael Blackwood-Hardt," he said, gesturing between them. "We'll be teaching at Hogwarts this year, and we're interested in how it might apply to us." There, he'd said it. If she wanted out, she'd have to say so.

Michael was so glad he wasn't having to say all of this. He shifted closer to Dare, unsure what he could add to that. He didn't want to tell everyone, he didn't think the students should know, but that part would be much easier to figure out. It was surreal being here talking about it when it had just been brought up the previous day.

"Oh, well," Abigail stammered, a bit shocked. Maybe on her break she would read those Daily Prophets she hadn't gotten around to. She certainly hadn't heard about any of this before. And I thought I'd seen everything at Thaumaturgy! "Could you tell me when you are wanting to begin all this?" They were so young that it would hopefully be years.

Dare would have loved to give the Healer that very answer. No hurry, maybe sometime in the next five years or so. He looked aside at Michael, though. This was a question he wasn't going to answer, mostly on the grounds that he didn't want to get himself in trouble.

Michael would love to get it going as soon as possible, but it probably wouldn't have been good to just blurt that out in front of Dare when they had barely even talked about when. He glanced over at Dare and paused for a few moments before he finally spoke. "I want to get the information as soon as possible, we can start and just go where it leads." If it took years, then it took years. If they found out the information in a week...they would have to talk.

"All right, then," Abigail said, putting on a smile for the two. "I have some contacts at St. Mungo's, so I'll send them an owl. I'm sorry I don't have any answers today, but if you'll check back next week, I'll let you know if I found anything." She hadn't done such in-depth research for years, and the Ravenclaw part of her was excited, no matter the subject.
