Michael came up by Dare, floating on his back. "But asking is so much more boring than pulling you under," he said, smiling. He started lazily swimming his way parallel to the shore away from Dare, moving his arms slowly to his sides. He didn't care for the idea of getting too much further from shore. It was bright enough on top of the water to see what was happening, but being too deep at night just didn't seem like it would be a good idea.

Dare's lips curved into a broad grin as he watched Michael float by; in the moonlight more than enough was visible to tease him. He followed, feeling somewhat shark-like in his desire to seize. He dipped low in the water, so that only the top of his head remained in the air, and after a moment, went under on his own accord. Michael was a shadow now, and nothing more.

Michael had known what he was doing, even if he hadn't really thought about it more than a passing thought. Then Dare had disappeared and Michael tried to keep himself moving calmly like he had before, and not try too hard to figure out where Dare had gone. He felt an ambush coming, but right now he was more in the mood to just accept it than to try to avoid it.

Dare impulsively decided not to attack Michael just yet. Rather, he swam underneath him, letting out bubbles in a trail as the water parted, wondering if Michael would feel them. He surfaced quietly for air and to get his bearings, then sunk beneath the water again, drawing closer beneath Michael with his bubbles. In his mind he could hear music from an old Muggle movie. Du-dum. Du-dum Du-dum.

Michael felt the bubbles faintly, just enough to let him know that something was beneath him. For all he knew, though, it could have been something completely different, grass or something. Either way, he continued on his lazy motions through the water. He had heard Dare break the surface, even if it just as easily could have been a fish, but it seemed like Dare wanted to take his time.

Dare continued to draw closer to the surface and to Michael's body with each pass beneath Michael. The game didn't last long, only enough to assure him that Michael wasn't paying attention anymore. Then he passed beneath him again, holding his air this time as he lunged upward, grabbing Michael around the waist and holding tightly.

It had lasted just long enough for Michael to start getting anxious wondering where Dare was, but then there had been arms around his waist and the feel of Dare pushing him up out of his previous comfortable position. There was a flash to last time, when he had frozen at the contact, and then he smiled and moved his hands over Dare's. "You got me, happy?" he asked, just barely able to reach the bottom with his toes.

Dare nuzzled a trail of water beneath Michael's ear and murmured a low Mhm. Now he supposed that if he was a shark, he'd better eat his prey before it escaped. His teeth scraped lightly against the skin of Michael's neck as he pulled their bodies comfortably together. "We should do this more often," he suggested.

"Yes," Michael agreed, nodding. "As long as we don't get caught." He could only imagine what would happen if a student saw them out here doing this. Of course, maybe they would bring Elouai every time so she could distract any potential voyeurs. "Some poor first year would be scarred for life," he said, though he smiled at the thought.

"Only if they saw what I'm gonna do to you next," Dare teased. To prove his point, one of his hands dropped beneath the water, taking that tease even further. His mind had gone some rather inappropriate places watching Michael float and holding him did nothing but exaggerate the thoughts and stir his interest.

Michael let out a low hum at the feeling and a moment later his hands slipped back to touch whatever part of Dare he could reach. This had already turned into more than a simple walk, why not take it that extra step? This was what he had been talking about, what Dare had been talking about, it was something new, something to pull them out of a pattern. Patterns seemed to be so bad for them. "I think they'd know even if they didn't see it," he said softly. He wasn't able to keep his feelings from his face.

"Then I hope they're in their dorms like they're supposed to be," Dare returned. If they weren't, then they deserved whatever they walked into, or at least to his current state of mind it was true. Of course, his mind was currently fading. It was far more pleasant to concentrate on the feel of Michael's hand against him or the way his muscles tightened when he kissed that sensitive spot...

"That's true," Michael murmured, eyes closing as Dare's lips found that one spot that he knew so well. He thought that perhaps he might have gotten used to that, or that the kisses and light touches from Dare would stop having such an effect on him, but he was wrong. He hadn't even begun to get tired of it all. His mind was fading, as well, it was late enough that he really didn't expect to be interrupted.

Dare didn't reply again. He was enjoying himself too much—enjoying Michael too much—and talking wasn't nearly as interesting as doing. He wasn't at all afraid of being caught, though he probably should have been considering how thin the tree cover was this close to the lake, but he was starved for excitement. As much as he might keep to himself, he needed more stimulation than he'd been getting at school and home. No part of him held back for propriety.

Michael was up for whatever Dare wanted right now. Right now, he was quite enjoying this, the strange sensations of being in the water against Dare, the subtle movement of the water as they shifted and a light breeze blew over the surface. He let his head rest back against Dare's shoulder, turning into his neck to give him a kiss.
