((haha don't worry that was me all last week )) Verity relaxed as his arm slipped around her and she instinctively leaned against him again as if it was an old routine. She closed her eyes, resting her head on his chest, closing her eyes, and feeling as safe as ever once again. "Of course." She said softly. Her eyes opened slowly taking in the view yet another time. It was the most beautiful thing she saw, she felt safe with his arm around her, and she should have felt perfect...but she still had an uneasy feeling that something was wrong.

"So you don't think I'm too horribly cheesy?" Leo teased softly. He had given her a flower and taken her to see the stars on their second date, that had to be a record or something. He didn't regret it, though, not when it had led to this easy feeling, even with the brief, uncomfortable intermission. It was still crazy that their opinions of each other had changed so thoroughly.

"I think you're incredibly cheesy." Verity said as a grin spread across her lips. Here eyes rested on the flower that was in her hand and she tilted her head down slightly letting its sweet scent fill the air around her. "And I love it." She added after a few moments. In less than a week he had annoyed her thoroughly, made up for it by taking her to dinner, given her a flower, dazzled her with one of the most incredible views of the night sky she had ever seen, and she loved it.

"I don't know whether to be flattered or offended," Leo said, smiling broadly. At least she didn't think him some horribly depraved guy that was trying too hard. Maybe that's what he was, but he wasn't about to admit it if she hadn't caught on yet. As long as they had moved on from their previous conversation, he didn't really care what she said.

Verity lifted her head up and laughed a little. “Cheesy isn’t bad.” She said. “I like cheesy.” She reached a hand up to his forehead to brush away a stray piece of hair, her fingertips gliding softly across his forehead before dropping her arm back down. A question suddenly popped into her head. It was more of a concern than a question, really. “Leo? Have you seen the Prophet recently?” She blurted it out, she didn’t mean to ask it. For all she knew she could have just put herself in between a rock and a hard place. Personally, Verity loved the attention but she wasn’t sure how Leo would react about it.

"No, I haven't," Leo said, shaking his head. "I don't generally keep up with the news." He knew he should, but half the stuff printed in the Prophet wasn't worth reading, much less trusting for reliable news. "Why?" Had the last issue been particularly good? Perhaps there was something big in news that he had missed.

((haha you're forgiven...this time )) "Erm.." Verity paused. What he hell was she doing? She always had a hard time keeping her mouth shut. The Prophet was a load of rubbish, at least that article had been, and she didn't want to risk messing things up any more than that had been. "Nothing. I was just wondering." She cursed herself silently for using such a lame excuse. She bit her lip and closed her mouth to keep from saying anything else.

((Maybe this is the fates telling us this thread has gone on too long )) Leo looked over at Verity curiously for a moment before nodding. "It has a ton of junk in it, I stopped reading regularly a while ago. I will every now and again sometimes, but it's usually not worth it." Maybe he would start reading again at some point, but not right now, he didn't see any point in doing so.

"You're right." Verity said, slightly distracted. "Tons of junk..." She repeated. A soft sigh escaped her lips and she stifled a yawn. Oh no, she can't be tired already she still had the entire night ahead of her. Reluctantly, she opened her mouth. "It's getting late." She said softly. She still had to head back to the Three Broomsticks to close up before she could go back to the castle.

Leo didn't want to leave her, but it was getting late. "I could walk you to the common room," he offered. That was one of the good things about dating inside the house, they could stay together as much as they wanted and no one could get onto them. He didn't even think about the Three Broomsticks that Veriity had to keep up with.

"I would love that." Verity said smiling up at him. She didn't want to leave this. "Only I've got to go back to the Three Broomsticks and close up." Her tone dropped at that last part. Oh how she wished she could just forget it and head up to the Common Room with him. She hated the walk down to the shop, especially at night.

"I could walk you there," Leo said. "Or just meet up with you later, in the common room." He didn't want to leave her, but he was sure that she would be able to close up shop faster without him there bothering her and getting in the way of everything, which he was certain he would do even without trying.

Verity moved her hand over his jaw and cupped his chin. "That's a sweet offer." She said smiling. "But you don't have to do that." She was more concerned with the probability that they might not even make it to the Three Broomsticks if he walked with her. "It's getting late." She repeated, still reluctant to leave. "But I'll see you soon." She promised. Maybe at the Festival that was coming up.

Leo nodded and took a short kiss before standing and offering a hand to Verity. "I'll see you later, then," he said. There was plenty of time for them to be together, they didn't have to do it all in one night. He would be looking forward to seeing her again whenever possible.

Verity took his hand and stood up. "Wait." She said. She hadn't let go of his hand and she pulled him closer. "I had a good time tonight." She said softly, her eyes shining. She leaned in and kissed him softly, holding it a little longer than the kiss before. She pulled away finally. "Goodnight," She said, giving his hand a light squeeze before turning and walking towards the Three Broomsticks.
