Verity made her way down to the Great Hall. It was Saturday Morning, way too early in the morning. At least, that's what it felt like. She was at the Three Broomsticks until nearly two in the morning. Business was hopping, but it meant long hours for Verity.
Verity wasn't greeted with the normal loud, cacophonous noise that usually was present in the Great Hall. Her eyes scanned the room and she realized that there were only a few people in there and they all seemed to be spread out. She couldn't blame them, most sane people would probably be sleeping in on a Saturday morning. Verity was too lazy to walk all the way over to the Slytherin table, so she just sat at the one that was closest to her. She needed coffee desperately.

Vivikia was very careful about what table she sat and she sat at any table other than her house table. Vivikia sipped her coffee with a smile, Vivikia was looking forward to today, she was going to shop til she dropped and hopefully meet some more new faces. Broderick was still asleep and would venture out and make an appearance at some point in her trip, he didn't always like to slumber this late on saturdays, of course in those times they were both much younger but now he was man and if sleeping in late made him more tolerable at times than that was more than worth it for Vivikia. The seat across from Vivikia became occupied with a very sleepy occupant, she definitely didn't look as thou she followed the concept of beauty sleep but Vivikia could over look it. Coffeem the girl was well in need of it and it was only fair that at this early hour on this very fine morning that Vivikia humble herself to be a dear and help this girl to some coffee. Vivikia reached for an empty mug and filled it to the brim with coffee put before the girl "Here, this should help you somewhat I think"

Verity looked up. She hadn't realized anyone else was at the table, or anywhere near her for that matter. How did people possibly run on this little tiny amount of sleep? Verity needed her beauty sleep, in every sens of the expression. Her normally bouncy, curly locks looked like they were being weighed down by an invisible force. Dark circles surrounded her still bright amethyst eyes. "Do I really look that bad?" She asked, managing a small smile. Verity took the cup of coffee graciously. It was just how she liked it, black and searing hot. It smelled delicious, but Verity hardly had time to take in the bold scent as she took her first sip.

Vivikia flash a soft smile of her own at the question being addressed to her. "Not exactly" Vivikia gestured with a nod of her head "That won't help on the outside but it should help boost your energy, being awake right now is more important." It would explain alot or maybe this girl just preferred to stay up late.
"Did you have a date or something last night?? Of course you don't have to say if you don't want to but at least that would have been a good reason for being in such the state your in."

Verity let herself enjoy the feeling of the hot liquid rushing down and soothing her throat before she opened her lips to answer. "I've been working late hours." She explained. A hot date sounded like a better excuse, at least in her mind. "I guess it's my own fault. I should have realized how much work running my own bar is. Ever since I reopened the Three Broomsticks, it feels like I barely have time for anything." Verity wasn't complaining as much as she was just dumping everything in her mind onto the poor girl. At least by running the Three Broomsticks, she was free from the strings attached to her father.

"Work?..Oh" Vivikia wrinkled her nose slightly, yes she had forgotten that could be a possibly reason as well but thought it wouldn't fit the case. What was more it seemed this girl really didn't like working Vivikia could understand it as she had never worked before herself.
"Have you ..worked before now. It doesn't agree with you it seems. You should try to seek out help it isn't fair for you to be doing all the work even if you are the owner, In fact that's the way it suppose to be, your suppose to have help."
"If you don't mind me asking what's happen that could possibly motivate you..work?" Vivikia asked. Since the girl was dumping Vivikia didn't see that such a question should be off limits. Vivikia introduced herself before she forgot "I'm Vivikia Hildegrad"

Verity grinned and sat up a little straighter. A little bit of coffee could go a long way. "I'm Verity Bromley." She said. It was rare when she introduced herself with her last name, a name she absolutely despised. She wanted nothing to do with that name, with her father, even if it was the name of one of the oldest, more wealthy and powerful Pureblood families in the Wizarding World.
Having exchanged names, Verity felt more comfortable unloading her miserable past. It wasn't all that interesting, but it was something Verity was trying harder and harder to move away from. "No, I haven't always worked. In fact, this is the first time I ever had to. I guess it's just one of those things you have to get used to eventually." There was a time, only a few weeks ago, that Verity had been comfortable with the idea that she would always be able to glide through life on a pair of Jimmy Choo pumps, but reality kicked her in the butt.
"I come from a long line of very wealthy, powerful, and snobby Purebloods." Verity said with a hint of disgust. She enjoyed the wealthy part, and even the idea of power held interest in her, but she hated the stuck-up mentality of everyone she grew up with. She wasn't even raised by her parents, but rather a long line of nurses and nannies who could hardly keep up with her.
"I lost my mom when I was young." Lost was a relative term, you can't lose what you never really had, right? "And my dad quickly remarried. Then got divorced and remarried. And got divorced and remarried..." Verity's voice trailed off and she flicked her hand indicating that the pattern just kept repeating.
"Each time he remarried, I got shipped off to a new school. It wasn't terrible, I just got sick of it." She explained. "A couple of weeks ago he got married yet again, and I got a letter telling me to pack my things." Verity swallowed. Already the 'marriage' was on the rocks and nearly over. "Only, when I told him I was staying, he threatened to cut me off." Verity had lived a very privileged life and she enjoyed the money, being able to go shopping whenever and wherever she liked, and most of all getting what she wanted. "So instead of crawling back, I decided to open up shop. I heard about the Three Broomsticks and how it had been abandoned by it's previous owner, so for some strange lapse in judgement, I decided to buy it." Verity ended her story for the moment with a long sip of the coffee.
It was a lot for her to blurt out and she waited for the girl's reaction. She wouldn't be surprised if the girl got up and walked away right them to save herself from extreme boredom.

Really how terrible to be the first time in your life you have to work" Vivikia cringed at the notion that the notion that a person who had never worked could get use to work, that was pure rubbish. "No you don't have to get used to it, things could look up for you" Verity spoke of coming from a long line of weathly purebloods and vivikia felt that much about Verity from the start but she wanted first for Verity to come forth with it to confirm it. "I wasn't sure there were too many childern of such families attending the school. I was only allowed to come because Broderick was interested. We've been tutored all this time and we wanted our last two years of education to be at a school with other kids and more importantly our own freedom." It seemed that Verity's life had been all out of sorts, she didn't really recall knowing Verity's parents when she was younger being around the grown-ups so much was frowned upon but now it was just a bore. "How tragic to be threaten to be cut off and to be..cut off. Maybe you won't have to stay this way thou I mean surely you can figure out other options?"
On a happy note vivikia smiled and spoke with excitement "I'm going shopping today, today I am going to bring a whole new meaning to the phrase of shop til you drop"

"Broderick?" Verity asked, raising her eyebrow at the unfamiliar name. Now that she thought about it the name Hildegrad did ring a bell, although she couldn't quite place it. She had been forced to go to so many of those functions, benefit dinners, charity balls, blah blah blah when she was a little kid that all the names just sort of blended together.
She lifted her shoulders slightly in a shrug. "I've thought about my options. Unfortunately, that happened after I bought the Three Broomsticks." One of Verity's weaknesses was acting before thinking. It was proven through her quick decision to buy the Three Broomsticks, then another lapse in judgement that day Jamie had helped her fix it up. "I'm technically the only heir to my father, and I have a trust fund that will be unfrozen in a few years." Verity was worried about her father writing her out of the will, but she was slowly getting used to the idea. "He can't touch the trust fund, since it was set up by Grandmother." In all reality, Verity was safe. She had options, she just didn't realize that in time.
"Who knows, maybe the Three Broomsticks will end up being a good thing." It already has been a good experience in some part. First of all, it brought her and Jamie, who she could hardly stop thinking about now, together. The customers weren't terrible. It was nice to meet new people and Verity was getting better at knowing when to cut them off from the Firewhiskey.
"Oh, honey, you've never shopped with me. I love shopping!" Verity said with broad grin and a sudden burst of energy. It reminded her that she and Celyn never did go on that trip to Milan and she made a mental note to follow through on it.

"Yes Broderick Mendenhall, we've been betrothed for ages, but that doesn't stop us from having our fun, you'll absolutely love him." Vivikia assured Verity.
"Oh yes your trust fund, yes your right you should be okay, yes perhaps The Three Broomsticks will be a good investment. Broderick knows alot about investments."
Vivikia laughed a little as Verity told her that she loved to shop "You right i haven't gone shopping with you but I would like to sometime it's never fun going into overdrive over stelltos and peeptoes alone."

"He sounds like a nice guy." Verity offered with a smile, although she was pretty sure she never actually met him. One of the benefits of starting her own life, without the ties to her father, was that she didn't have to listen to him badger her about that Lord Stuck-up-big-nose...or whatever his name was. Verity had despised the arrogant heir her father and everyone else in society had pushed toward her. He was lanky and rude and proud...not at all like Jamie.
Verity's ears perked at the mention of another shopping trip. "Oh yes!" She said enthusiastically. "I know what you mean, it's a lot more fun when there's someone who can keep up." She laughed, her father's servant Henry had tried his best, but he just wasn't cut out for her shopping sprees.

"Yes he is, you'll love him. There's no girl that doesn't" It really was a sight to behold Broderick making every girl in the room melt under that steel gaze of his sure lots of guys had such a gift but Broderick did it so well, it made Vivikia proud. "Broderick isn't much a sport for it unless it's shopping for naughty things, I get his opinion, something to wear just for him and he gets some fun in return in the meantime. Very productive and fun at the same time. Sometimes he doesn't even mind if I bring someone else along as well but only if they want to of course" Vivikia was aware that most would refrain from telling such details but what was the harm she wasn't ashamed of it.

Verity raised an eyebrow, surprised the girl had offered to confide that much in her even though they only met a few minutes ago. It was certainly more than Verity had bargained to hear, but she wasn't about to let it show. It was still too early to really comprehend anything. After all, there really wasn't anything wrong with it...was there? "Shoes are my favorite." Verity said, subtly shifting the subject slightly. "There are just so many varieties and they go with somany different outfits." She said with an excited grin. The shoes she had put on that morning were some of her favorites. They were a pair of pumps she had bought in Brasil and they were red snakeskin and platform.

Verity hadn't gotten really uncomfortable in the least which pleased Vivikia very much, most would have choked on their coffee or turned a dark shade of red. It was good to have a friend who could handle these details."
"Me too, I have the same problem every morning and with all occasions. I agree on a certain group but only to find out that another group go with my outfit even better. I just give each pair in each group a number, then put each number on a slip of papers into a hat and which ever I pick is the pair I will wear. I'm still try to figure out a better system."

Verity grinned. "It's all about which ones feel right." Verity was able to tell which leather or snakeskin went with which pair of denim jeans the best simply by the touch, the smell, and of course, the look of them. She had gotten so used to it that she could do it with her eyes closed. "Like, the other day, I was wearing a pair of my vintage Sevens," Verity explained her favorite jeans, "And I had on my orange Elizabeth and James Sophi's, but as soon as I put them on...it just didn't feel write. It's a good thing I changed them too because they would have clashed horribly with my Suspension ring." Verity held up her finger to display one of her favorite Harry Winston rings that she happened to be wearing for a second time that week.
