Quinn jumped a bit as she heard Michael talking to someone, and turned her body so that it was as small as possible, and she could see both of them at the same time. Her other hand joined the first in braiding together small sections of hair into a long string down the right side of her face. She wanted to make herself smaller than this, maybe disappear into the floorboards, she knew that Dare wasn't happy with her, and even though she knew that he and Michael were gay, it still felt...very masculine. Masculine enough that she was really scared what Dare's upset could cause.

Dare's lips spread into a broad smile as his eyes met Michael's, and he moved to one knee in the main aisle to ruffle Elouai's fur. He only even glanced at the customer because he was wary of people finding out where he worked, but his eyes caught, and despite the fact that she looked terrified, he recognized her from class. She was the reason he couldn't make eye contact with his brother.
His smile faded, and he looked away. "I'm... tired," he said. "Got a lot of homework. I'm gonna go upstairs." He pushed to his feet and gave Elouai one last pat and a subtle hand signal inviting her to follow him. He normally did his homework in the d.j. booth at the club, and he hadn't left because he was tired, but he wasn't going to announce that. Michael could ask him later if he wanted to know.

Michael's eyebrows came together at that as he watched Dare. Was Dare okay? His eyes flickered to Quinn, what was going on? So Dare wasn't talking to Quinn, but he certainly hadn't expected Dare to up and leave the second he walked in the door. Michael wanted to go talk to Dare, but instead he eyed Quinn, wondering if she would give an explanation, since he felt like Dare wouldn't say anything.

Quinn was glad that Dare had left as quickly as he had come, she felt way to uncomfortable. She edged a ways back towards the door, "I told you. Somethings wrong, he's angry with me, he's been like this since I asked him." She shook her head, it wouldn't matter, she'd already told him what the problem was.

Michael shook his head as he watched Dare leave. He didn't know anything about this. "There still isn't anything I can do about it, at least not until I talk to Dare." When had this happened? He still wanted to go up to Dare, but he forced himself not to just say excuse me and leave. He pulled his eyes from the door to the apartment to look at Quinn.

Quinn was really close to the door, she could feel the air outside, waiting calling to her, she was definitely going to stop at the forest on the way back to the dorms. "Then go talk to him." I don't want to be here she thought. "I'll leave you alone, I'm not helping here anyways." Quinn turned, having against her judgment on what she was learning of socializing, to leave for sanity's sake.

Michael watched her for a moment, then nodded and raised his wand to lock the door and flip the sign to closed once she left. He wasn't going to try to keep her here when she wanted to leave, especially since Dare was upstairs with something obviously wrong. It had to be something, with the good mood he had been in when he had first walked through the door.
