Lyric was looking studiously away from the drawing on the wall, refusing to let himself even think about it. No one needed to know what had happened with Jory, not when he wished they'd never met. That drawing represented far more to him than a dirty picture, it triggered the feeling of secrets, of guilt and shame for things that had happened years ago. It didn't matter how much of him had enjoyed or how much of him wanted now and then. He'd trained himself not to acknowledge any of it.
"I need to go," he said. Not I'm leaving. He needed to go forget he'd even seen this, forget about Jory and the past again. There was none of his habitual brooding anger in his voice, just tension thick enough to taste and a spark of desperation so small that he wasn't aware it showed through. He hiked his duffel bag up further against his body, then took a step backward in the doorway.

Celyn looked at him carefully, did he find the drawing disturbing? No, she didn't believe so, but there was something else, something she couldn't understand. It was when he stepped back did she mentally curse, she was not going to let him leave her here. "Not unless you give me the directions to get to the main castle." the words came out harsh and she clutched her wand unconsciously and stuffed it in her pocket. If this was his idea of misleading her, by bailing out, she wasn't going to stand for it.
Finally taking a deep breath she managed to say a bit less harsh "I should have warned you and all, but you didn't seem like the type of guy to give a sh-." maybe if she was a bit nicer he would give her the directions out, but after that he could go wherever he wanted and she could paint as much as she needed, but the look in his eyes still disturbed her. What was it about her little project that offended him so much?

"I don't give a sh~," Lyric said, his eyes narrowing as he looked up at Kelly. "I don't give a jarvey's ass, but I've got sh~ I need to do." Like find another empty room far enough out of the way that no one would find him. He glared at her another moment, pulling up whatever anger he could find in himself to bury the self-hatred, but she was watching him too closely. It felt like she could see into him, and the feeling was enough that he pulled his gaze away.
"When you're done, just go back the way we came," he told her. "Turn right instead of left at the suit of armor, you'll get to a main corridor at the end of the hall." He didn't know why he bothered when he didn't care how long it took her to get out of the tower. Maybe nerves. He had more things to deal with than fighting someone over directions.

Celyn didn't flinch nor was she taken aback by his tone. She glanced momentarily at the picture on the wall before turning back to him, her brow was raised just a bit. "Then go, carry on doing whatever it is that's so important." she had received many different types of reactions, but this one bewildered her.
She mentally mapped what he was saying, his directions made sense and his tone showed that this wasn't some crude joke. Celyn went to poke her head just outside the door to look down the hall. She eyed Trent; this was one response she wouldn't forget and for some strange reason, it made her feel like it had more to do with something personal than a deep loathing to the drawing. "When it's done, you can have another look at m project." it was her way of testing the theory, to see that flicker of emotion she was so taken by. With arms crossed she pulled back, waiting for him to leave.

Lyric hated the way she was looking at him, and worse, he hated the way he felt like shrinking into himself. He straightened and put up a wall of sheer bravado with brows lowered and eyes narrowed in challenge before he even considered a response. Then he decided she didn't need a response and turned out the door, heading the way they'd been going rather than the way they'd come. He was going to get lost, get sh~faced, and spend the next few hours wandering.

Celyn watched, she didn't move until he was out of sight. Turning away, she shut the door behind her and turned to stare at her project. Sitting on the table and picking up a large brush, she popped open the paint cans, her mind drifting every once in a while to Trent. Shaking her head to clear her thoughts, she stood up and began to paint, for some strange reason starting with the dominant male, she was drawn to him so much. Celyn was completely absorbed in her painting, forgetting the little exchange moments before.
