Lyric wondered at what she said, but he was sure it was none of his business what people had changed and how. His mind flickered back to Jory, someone he'd known only a week of his life, and wondered if he'd changed, too. "What was the lock down?" he asked. He hadn't heard about that. He'd heard very little, really and couldn't recall most of it.

"Um," Jewels started, thinking of the best way to describe it, "Basically a bunch of death eaters escaped from Azkaban and with one of them being Alex's sister, they came to our school. From there it's a little sketchy. I believe what happened was that the sister...Miranda?...came and tried to attack Alex but didn't. ...Eh, something like that. After that they just seemed to go away. Sorry it's a bit confusing, I'm still unsure of a lot of it." For having been not that long ago, those memories had already turned into blurs in her mind. So much had happened since then, that the details of the main event were lost among it all.

Lyric's eyes had widened at the mention of Death Eaters. He'd known of some kids and grandkids of Death Eaters at PONY, but the parents and grandparents had mostly been out of the picture. Dead or incarcerated. He couldn't imagine what would have happened if any of them had attacked, but surely the school would have been shut down while they dealt with it. "So like, do all the students call the Headmistress by her first name?" Lyric asked at last. There was something that never would have happened at PONY without serious punishment.

Jewels had to retrace what she had said to realize that she called Alex, Alex. "Well, I guess it's just something we do out of habit. I don't think she really cares. Like, as long we are still respectful then I don't...er, didn't think she'd mind." She reminded herself that she didn't go to MI anymore. Everything from back then was now past tense. She almost frowned at the thought, it would take some getting used to.

Lyric nodded, but he didn't have much to say about that. He hadn't had any contact with an easygoing Headmistress, and he wouldn't have guessed that she'd accept being called anything less. But then, he was forever a special case. He wondered how Jory was doing. He thought about that for the briefest moment before turning his mind back to what the girl had said. His head tilted slightly as he looked at her. "What's your name again?" he asked, though he wasn't sure if he'd ever asked before. It was better to be safe, though.

"Oh, Jewels. Jewels Tyler." Her first thought was how embarrassing, she had been blabbering on and on about MI and so on without so much as an introduction, but then again she realized his name, too, she didn't know. Apparently the few times she had seen him around had never been enough to learn a name. "And your name is..." She trailed off in hopes that he'd finish the thought.

Lyric parted his lips to say his given name and stopped himself just in time. "Trent," he said instead. "Trent Frey." It sounded so odd, but it was better than continuing to get insults over his name being Lyric. And people arguing with him that it couldn't be his name because it wasn't a name. Yes it was, actually. It was on his birth certificate and his school records, it was definitely his name. "Um, nice to meet you Jewels," he added.

"Nice to meet you too Trent." Trent she repeated in her mind. Not trying to be judgemental or anything but he didn't look like a Trent. Trent was such a...usual name. From her first impression he was far from usual. Of course, with a name like Jewels who was she to judge about names? "So," She started, then ended when she realized she didn't know what else to say. "What kind of things are you into?" She figured going with small talk questions was better then nothing.

Talking like this was so painful, even when Lyric knew the answers to the questions. "Photography mostly," he said. He just didn't know how to extend things to more than the necessary words. "And I'm okay at Charms." He was fairly good at Charms actually, but he couldn't seem to say as much. It felt like bragging if he said anything more. "What about you?" he returned.

"I write," Jewels said then turned the conversation back to him. "Photography? What do you photograph? Objects, scenery, or people?" Goodness, this school was crawling with artists of some sort. Although she had really only met Dare from the last time she was here, it just seemed like a lot. Leaning back into her seat a little more, Jewels got more comfortable on the train.

"Just... whatever I feel like," Lyric answered. "I have a lot of places and things, but not many people." No, he'd have to be better at talking to get more people. Most of the people he had photographs of were part of a scene, not the focus. Except Jory. He'd taken actual pictures of Jory, and he still wasn't sure why. He wasn't at all sure how they'd been able to talk so easily at some points.

Jewels nodded along, interested enough to pay attention to what he was saying but not enought to ask more questions about it. And then officially didn't know what else to say. Fidgeting a little in her seat, mildly uncomfortable by the upcoming silence she subtly played around with the single ring she had on her right hand. Being quiet, or just not talking, was never a strong suit of hers.

"So what do you write?" Lyric asked at last. Apparently there had been no stopping him from starting an awkward silence, but he knew enough to be able to turn a question back on someone. He likely wouldn't have any clue what to say when she'd answered, though.

"Mostly short stories. I used to do poetry. Small things like that." Jewels shrugged, looking towards the floor, "I haven't done a whole lot lately though. Just things happen and writers block stays for a lengthy visit." She put her ring back on her middle finger and then looked out of the window. Since the funeral she hadn't been writing a whole lot. The only thing that had changed though it that from the last time she was here, she had actually written a few pieces here and there. None were actually any good and still qualified as having writer's block, but at least she had written.
