"What did she say about me?" Michael asked, refusing to let Markise go until he knew. Before, Markise had just said that she had said some crap, and that he had basically ignored it. What all did she know? The fact that he had been a member wasn't private knowledge, but the details certainly weren't widely known. He didn't doubt that enough digging would bring up more information, though.

Dare looked back at Markise, but there wasn't anything he could say right now. He could hold Michael's hand and he could reassure him over and over that he'd be fine, that he was a good person. He could silently prompt Markise for whatever he knew, even if he could tell that Markise thought he'd said everything important. It made sense that Michael would want more; this was his life. Our life.

Markise nearly groaned at that. Did Michael need a transcript of the whole conversation? He couldn't provide one, so the guy was going to have to take what he could remember.
"I don't know," he said, though his eyes unfocused as he tried again to think of anything she'd said in specific. What had she said about Michael? "She said she'd heard things about what you did or something and went all just like the rest of them like you can label people like that." He pushed a lock of hair back behind his ear and tried to think.
"She said she didn't know what you'd done, but knew how bad your dad was." Something Markise agreed with after what Dare had told him. He shook his head. "After that she just got b~chy and was trying to get me to agree with her, but she wasn't even saying anything. Just how people don't change and I'm a dumbass for not totally agreeing with her." Markise looked up somewhat helplessly. "That's all I can remember, I'm sorry."

"It's okay," Michael said, dropping his eyes. "Thank you for telling me." He wished he knew what she thought and what she intended to do, but if Markise didn't remember anything else than he didn't remember. He rather liked the idea of hunting her down himself. Maybe he could do that, if she was a Slytherin...no matter how much he didn't want to go there he would deal with it to confront her. How did she end up in Slytherin, anyway?

Dare took hope from what Markise had said. It sounded like she might have evidence against Soren, which Dare doubted simply because it seemed like if there was evidence, the man would have been in prison. He didn't doubt the man had done things worthy of Azkaban, considering he'd tried to murder his own son, but either way, at least the girl hadn't said anything about having proof that would send Michael to hell. He decided against ever mentioning that if there was a hell, they'd be sharing a room.

Markise nodded at Michael, then pushed back his hair again. "So, I ought to be going," he said, hoping he could leave this time. Somehow he managed it, and made his goodbyes as quick as he could. He needed to go find Ariel. If not to check on him, to distract himself.

Michael shifted closer to Dare and pulled Dare's hand closer to his body. He didn't think there was much that she could do...though that could be his hopeful side working. He just wanted to be able to stay with Dare and not have to deal with some girl trying to ruin his life. "I don't know what she's going to do," he said softly, keeping his eyes down on their hands.

Dare squeezed Michael's hand before letting go, bringing his arm around Michael's back. His other hand crossed over, sliding against Michael's, then linking their fingers together again. "We'll be careful," he said. He included himself not because he thought anything would happen to him, but because there was no way he was letting Michael deal with this on his own. When they'd faced his father, Michael had needed him, and though he knew Michael could take care of himself, if Dare had any say in it, he wouldn't have to.

Michael managed a small smile and leaned into Dare. He sighed softly. "I should go find her," he said. He didn't want to go hunt her down, but it would be better to do it now than to wait for her to get worse. "I'll talk to her, find out what she wants to do." Maybe he could get it worked out and they wouldn't have to worry about it anymore.

"Can I come with you?" Dare asked softly. He wanted to just demand to go, and if he decided to, Michael would have a hard time stopping him. He'd try suggesting first and see how that went. Markise had said the girl was crazy a few times, and Dare didn't want to hear how crazy from some Auror telling him his fiance was in Azkaban.

Michael looked over at Dare, "I don't know where to look for her other than the common room." And he didn't have a lot of time to go hunting her down. Plus, he wanted to know what all she knew about him, or what she had heard or assumed about him. Dare didn't even know everything, though, so he had the feeling that she didn't know as much as he was afraid she did.

Dare didn't like that logic, but he couldn't argue it no matter how much he wanted to. "I'm gonna go crazy wondering what's happening," he said, brows drawing lightly together. He knew Michael wouldn't let him into the Common Room, and seriously doubted he could wait around in the dungeons either, even if he decided he missed being hexed in the back.

Michael looked down and nodded. "I know," he said. "But...it'd be the easiest way to find her." And he wanted to get it over with soon. If Dare was there he didn't know how it would go, at least without Dare he would have that much less to worry about. He loved Dare, but he didn't want to have to worry about him there. "I would tell you what happened."

Dare glanced aside at Michael, then out over the brief stretch of grass between them and the lake. He nodded lightly, but he couldn't say any of the things on his mind. What if you don't come back? How long do I have to wait before I go looking for you? There were so many things that could go wrong, and even if Dare knew how unlikely they were, that wouldn't stop his imagination from running.

Michael leaned in to press a light kiss to Dare's cheek. "I'll be okay," he promised. "She's probably fifteen." He could hold his own against her, should she decide to do anything. And she was in Slytherin, that could work for him or against him. He didn't see her getting along too well with a group of Death Eaters' offspring, but he knew he wasn't exactly well liked among his classmates, either.
