A Trip Down Memory Lane (Open)

Ryan held her hands "You don't have to say it if you don't want to."

"I know honey," Gabby said, squeezing Ryan's hands, a grateful smile flashing on her face. "I think I need to though." Gabby looked up into Ryan's eyes, wondering what he was going to think.

Ryan looked into her eyes getting ready to hear the story "Ok babe."

[Gabby Brocklehurst]

Gabby drew a breath, trying to steady herself. "Storm found me in here. I was looking at old pictures of my grandmother, the only pictures I have of her." Gabby's words nearly choked her, but she swallowed and continued, not looking Ryan in the eye.

"We started to argue, I said I didn't want to fight with her, have a duel, that I wanted everything to just stop. But she had gone almost wild. She said something about maybe wanting to be enemies, about how my pain was her pleasure."

Gabby shivered at this point, her eyes flickered towards Ryan to see how it was taking this, but she looked away too quickly to register anything. "I told her that what she was doing was wrong, that she shouldn't do it."

Gabby paused and drew breath, this was the part she hated the most. "I said she was like Emilian, that she had assaulted someone and wanted to settle it in a duel. I said Emilian was half dead now. She told me to draw my wand and fight. I refused, telling her that if she attacked me now, she was worse than Emilian."

Tears slipped down her cheeks,Gabby's voice started to tremble but she carried on, "She had me pinned against a tree, she was getting angrier and angrier. She cursed me, I don't know what curse it was, it felt awful." Gabby's voice had dropped to a whisper. She started to sob and turned towards Ryan, burrying her face against his chest.

Ryan listened to the story trying not to show his anger toward storm and when gabby finished and started crying he quickly held her close to him.

Gabby continued to cry, unable to stop herself. It was a release of all her anger, frustration and pain from the past few weeks. She was glad that she had Ryan but for the moment she couldn't say anything.

Ryan just held her and ran his hand through her hair trying to comfort her.

Gabby felt her tears stop and her sobs cease. She looked up at Ryan. her eyes bright from her recent tears. No words came to mind so Gabby just waited to see if Ryan would say anything.

Ryan kissed her cheek softly "Are you ok?"

Gabby closed her eyes as she felt Ryan's lips on her cheek. "I think so," she said, her voice sounding strange and weak to her. "So..." the single word was posed as a question as she wanted to know what Ryan thought of what had happened.

Ryan sighed "Well I think someone needs to go talk to Storm that won't either try to kill her or possibly get hurt again."

"I want to talk to her Ryan. I need to." Gabby sighed. She was struggling to express how she felt, so she put it into a kiss.

Ryan kissed her back and looked at her, knowing that he wouldn't be able to stop her "Please be careful then."

"I will, Brooke's taught me well." Gabby said with a smile. She looked around the clearing, "It's so peaceful here, I wish this could just be our place." Gabby sighed, leaning back on Ryan.

Ryan smiled and looked around "Well maybe not this place but maybe we can find another clearing."
