Dare polished off the angel food, breakfast having mostly burned off by now, and looked at Michael as he picked up another piece of cake. He lowered his voice to make a suggestion. "Maybe we could get Hells to put up both houses' banners in the Great Hall. You think?" They hadn't discussed the reception yet, beyond the cake, but he supposed they had to move past the reception some time.

Michael nodded and forcibly pushed away the realization of how empty the Great Hall would be for the reception. It was a huge room, and they could barely even take up a third of it with an eating area and a dance floor. But there would be banners, and the ceiling would show the night sky and they could decorate it however they wanted. The people that actually cared about them would be there. He picked up another square, "I don't see her having a problem with that."

Dare didn't mind the idea of a near-empty Great Hall. He held out hope that others might want to come, though he reminded himself how unlikely that was. All the same, he grinned as he turned to take a bite of the cake he'd picked up. He paused, and his grin widened, a playfully wicked gleam coming into his eyes. "Hey, Michael... carrot cake," he teased. He took an enthusiastic bite, then held out the rest for Michael.

Michael grinned and his eyes flicked over to the woman. Then he eyed Dare, his eyes gleaming with the old tease before he took a bite. He couldn't help the thoughts that ran through his head and he dropped his eyes as he chewed, unable to keep the grin from his face even though it was entirely inappropriate to have those thoughts in company.

Dare was enjoying very similar thoughts. No one could hear them, so he saw no problem in letting his mind go a little wild. Just a little, though. He'd like to be able to stand when they were done. He leaned close and pressed a brief kiss to Michael's cheek, then straightened again. "So do you want that red one?" he asked. They'd demolished the contents of that tray and he wasn't about to ask for more, especially when it was one of the first that had gotten their attention. But he supposed that they could have decided they liked one of the others more, so it had been worth trying them.

"If that's okay with you," Michael said, nodding. He had always loved red velvet cake, and if Dare had no problems with it, he didn't see anything keeping them from having it. He smiled at the woman, who he was happy had put up with them for so long, especially after having to go all over the room in search of details for the cake design.

Dare nodded, and he was so excited about having gotten something done, he could have jumped Michael right there, if only the woman would leave for long enough. His lips spread into a wide grin that didn't fade a bit until he saw the price. Even with little understanding of Muggle money, it looked like a lot. Apparently it was in their budget, though.

Michael was happy to see that he had actually overestimated the price because of the ones given in the book. Perhaps the ones in the book were for larger groups. He didn't think too long on it, but paid what was asked, remembering to write it all down when they got home. They thanked the woman for her help and she smiled back and took each of their hands in both of hers to shake.

"Well, that was easy," Dare said when they'd hit the street again. "Should we go look for something else before we go home? Or should we just go home?" Dare slipped his arms around Michael, as inappropriate as it might be on the sidewalk. He'd behaved for the cake lady.

Michael rested his arms on Dare's and grinned, "Do you really think you can last through something else?" he asked, eyes shining. He didn't think that either of them could. The weekend had been full of them making up for lost time, and he felt like there was still quite a bit of time left to make up. After an impossibly short kiss, considering their thoughts, they headed home.
