Little Pureblood Princess, has to be kept in bed, Chase mused. He'd met plenty of girls who kept strictly to that rule. Apparently there was nothing wrong with being f~ed, as long as it was in the proper setting of sheets and pillows.
"If I were to become such a brute, it would only be at your bidding," he said, though his eyes said otherwise. It wasn't at all proper to tell one's betrothed one's intention to have her begging whether there were suitable surrounds or not. Chase didn't have a thought that he wasn't capable of such a feat. He felt only a strong desire to prove himself, and the assurance that, since he must, he would.

"Well, there are exceptions to every rule, isn't that what they say?" Carolynn asked, eyes sparkling. She would much, much rather be kept on a bed, but that didn't mean that in just the right circumstances, with just the right person, she couldn't be persuaded to do something out of the ordinary. She smiled and her eyes dropped, though the innocent action only masked the actual reason for her eyes dropping from his eyes to his torso.

The teasing was starting to drive Chase to distraction. It felt completely pointless, like she was only stalling for time. As much as he enjoyed a good game, cat and mouse was no fun if he was the mouse. He had the distinct feeling that he was, that rather than making her want him, waiting for her to give up and admit that she was ready, he was waiting for her permission. That didn't sit well with him, not in the least.
"There always are," Chase said, the shift in his voice implying that he meant nothing more by the words. "Any rule can be broken if it's done well." Chase sat back against the couch then in a careless lounge. The hand on Carolynn's rose and he rested his arm lightly on the back of the couch, though he didn't let any part of it touch her. If he couldn't win the game she'd started, he'd start his own.

Carolynn didn't like that he had pulled away from her, and her face turned into a bit of a pout for a moment before she leaned in toward him. Her hand moved up from his knee on his thigh. She had apparently hit some sort of a roadblock, but she wasn't about to give up. "It can be fun to break the rules," she continued, though she didn't miss the absence of the tease in Chase's voice. "Just enough to keep things from being boring." Her eyes trailed over him as her hand moved yet again, her other resting on her own thigh.

Chase couldn't control the physical reaction that touch caused. It was just in the right place... almost. The way she looked him over didn't help his control, either. Still, this was much better, much more to his liking. "Surely you don't break rules," Chase suggested. He concentrated on his breathing, on keeping his tone even. Anything but what that delicate hand might try next, or how close her body suddenly was to his.

Carolynn's eyes sparkled when they moved up to Chase's. She leaned closer to him and shifted her hand just a little more again. "You would be surprised what I would do," she said. Her eyes dropped momentarily to his lips before meeting his eyes again. She could feel the closeness of their bodies and the anticipation was making her blood rush. If they both took a large enough breath at just the right time they would touch.

"Would I?" Chase asked, his voice painfully low now, not least because of this turn in events. This was definitely his invitation, and he decided the game had gone on almost long enough now. He let his gaze drop to Carolynn's lips now, then lift to her eyes again. "I'd like to see your puzzles now," he drawled. "If it's agreeable to you." He didn't give a f~ about the puzzles this time. He only wanted to be in close proximity to her bed before one of them broke.
