Michael closed his eyes tightly, grinning, and only opened them when the snow was gone from his face. He grabbed his own handful and smeared it over the back of Dare's head, right where his hair met his scarf, some of it was guaranteed to get underneath the fabric. He hadn't planned on putting snow on Dare's skin, but he thought Dare deserved it at least a little.

Dare let out a sound of complete shock, quickly followed by a string of mild profanity as he tried to brush the snow away from his neck, only succeeding in letting in a streak of it at his shoulders. A shiver raced down his back and he looked back at Michael, eyes narrowing, but gleaming all the same in pure mischief. He grabbed another handful of snow and attacked Michael with it.

Michael laughed but grabbed Dare's wrists to try to switch the control again and get the upper hand. It took a while, but eventually they were both exhausted, cold, and wet, and they were ready to go in. Michael sighed and put a loose arm around Dare's waist. "I'm going to Hogsmeade," he said, looking up at Dare. "I'm going to see if I can buy a place."

Dare blinked at the sudden return of rational thought. He'd still been on the snow, on looking at the mess they'd made of it and wishing his hands didn't hurt so badly so he could draw it. His head swiveled toward Michael, and his lips curved slightly. Why was he nervous at the thought? They'd lived together for two months. But then, the flat hadn't been theirs. As right as it had felt, it hadn't felt permanent. Dare leaned close to kiss Michael, but even his lips were frozen, so he settled for an Eskimo kiss, finally understanding it. "I'll be in the room when you get back," he said softly.

Michael smiled and nodded, "If I don't find somewhere there, I'll have to go to Diagon Alley." He didn't see any problem there, not when he could apparate. Dare could always side-along if he couldn't find a way back home. Home. He smiled again, they would have a home, even if it was just a little flat above a shop somewhere deep in Diagon Alley. "But not right then." He wasn't about to search both places in the same day.

Dare nodded in understanding, though he couldn't help being distracted by the thought. Michael was really going to look for someplace for them to live. Together. His lips curved again, and his eyes searched Michael's, loving what he saw in them. He turned at the bottom of the steps and wrapped both arms around Michael, not caring a bit if anyone happened to see. "I love you," he whispered.

Michael smiled and nodded, "I love you, too." He rested his arms on Dare's and leaned close, lightly touching their noses together. He stared into Dare's eyes until he began to feel the cold seep in from the lack of movement and then nuzzled lightly against him. "Go and get warm," he said, "I'll be back as soon as I can."

Dare had forgotten about the cold again as they'd stood there. It took him a moment or two to be able to pull away, and even then all he felt was a pull to go back to Michael. His lips curved into just a hint of his crooked smile, and he took one step back, then two before turning and heading up the steps.
