That was a million Galleon question, and one Dare knew he couldn't answer the full truth. The flat above the jewelry shop was theirs, and nobody else needed to know. Dare didn't know where Ariel imagined he was, since he never slept in his bed, but he didn't at all feel like filling him in. "A house-elf took us," he said simply. It was the truth, and one which was unarguable. He knew for a fact that house elves could apparate within the castle, so why not in and out of it as well? "Is there anything else I can tell you?" he asked dryly, frustration creeping into his voice along with the stress that had already been there.

Markise looked apologetically at Dare. He wanted to make excuses for Ariel, that they hadn't slept, but whatever Dare had been through was so far beyond lack of sleep that he didn't think he'd mention it. "Can we stay here a while?" he asked. Ariel already looked like he was falling asleep, and Markise was beginning to think that his jacket would make a decent pillow.

Ariel raised an eyebrow at that question, he rather liked that idea. Hang out in the room for a few hours, get a little sleep, then go to school when they got the chance. Even if they did have to stay in the room with Michael and Dare. He didn't ask anything else of Dare, at least not yet, he could always think of other things to ask, once he had had a nap.

Dare looked back at Michael again. Michael would not like this. It was a bad idea, but what else could he do? Kick them out at the risk of Soren Hardt taking out his anger on Markise? "Yes," he said at last, looking back at Markise. "Just for a while. When Michael wakes up..." He'd be upset, at the very least. "Wouldn't you rather have beds, though?" he asked softly. "There's a bunch of empty rooms on this floor." Dare wouldn't feel right using Michael's money to get Markise and Logan a room, but it would solve so many problems, even if the idea of leaving them alone did leave a sour taste in his mouth.

Markise's hurt at the thought of getting kicked out when Michael woke faded at the idea of sleeping in a bed. Ariel had all that Muggle money or he wouldn't have considered it. Maybe they could just borrow a room and pay for it later? Markise looked to Ariel, hoping he wasn't asleep yet.

"We can get a room, just have to go to Gringotts first to exchange," Ariel said, stifling a yawn. He really wanted to get to sleep. Unless the guy that owned the place took muggle money, which was something Ariel seriously doubted, even though the guy was so close to the muggle city. He had plenty of money, he just needed to get the right kind of it to buy a room with.

"I'd do it for you, but I can't go out there," Dare said, each word slightly clipped with annoyance. Logan didn't look like he was budging. The guy was an ass to begin with and a tool to finish it off. "You're not trapped in here," he pointed out. It wasn't that he wanted them to leave so much as he wanted Logan to leave, and knew it would be easier if Markise did, too. "What the hell are you exchanging Muggle money for, anyway?"

"Someone gave him some," Markise said. The truth as he thought he knew it was simple, if extremely odd. "He was giving us enough to get home, but I think he gave Ariel too much." He shrugged. He wasn't entirely sure, though. They'd only had two cups of coffee and a cab ride, but it seemed like there had been far more of those bills and coins than that.

Ariel sighed at the information being put out, but nodded absently. "Actually, I'm exchanging muggle money for wizarding money, but that's beside the point," he said, groaning lightly as he pushed himself to stand. "Can I leave my cloak here or might that scare Michael?" he asked, flicking a glaring glance towards the bed where Michael lay, still sound asleep.

Dare's brows creased, and he pushed to stand, too, refusing to sit there and look up at Logan. "You can leave it and Markise here, just take yourself," Dare snapped, still keeping his voice low. He was beyond tired and stressed, and Logan was such an easy target. Dare wished at that moment that he had the skills he'd need for a wizarding duel, even if only to let out his frustration on someone else. He didn't want a repeat of earlier.

Markise was the last to stand, and though he could see both sides of this, he didn't want it to happen. Dare was obviously stressed and Ariel was overtired, neither of them meant it, or at least he hoped as much. He knew that they didn't like each other, but nobody needed a fight right now. Markise stepped between them, facing Ariel as he took his cloak out of his hands. Markise's tired blue eyes pleaded for Ariel to let it go.

Ariel glared long and hard at Dare before he turned out the door and left, angry at the world in general. It was amazing how Dare could make him so angry so quickly. He attributed a lot of that to his lack of sleep. He only realized when he got out into Diagon Alley that he had no idea where the bank was, then was very relieved to find that it was easy to find, then set off down the road.

Dare glared at the door for some time after Logan stormed out, then turned the lock on the door. He stood there forcing himself to calm down, and when he felt in control of himself, turned back to Markise. "If he's just going to Gringott's he probably won't be gone long, but if you want to pass out on the floor for like fifteen minutes, you're welcome to. I'll stay awake and keep guard." Dare knew that Markise wasn't any better of a duelist than he was, but at least Dare knew how to throw a shield now.

It was tempting. He was so tired, but if he went to sleep now, what were the chances that Ariel would get him back up? But even a fifteen minute nap was better than nothing, right? Then he and Ariel could go off to their own room and not bother Dare and Michael. Markise couldn't stop himself from pouting at the thought. "Maybe I will," he said softly. It would be better than sitting here thinking about Michael in that one bed.

Even as tired as he was, Dare recognized that look. Markise rarely bothered to hide his emotions, and he was so easy to read sometimes that Dare didn't bother trying to pick it apart. "What's up?" he asked, moving to sit in the chair with the clothes slung over the back. It wasn't a whole lot better than the floor, but it was faster to get back up, and considering what they were up against, Dare needed every second he could get.
