Adara looked up at Anna and tilted her head curiously. Her dark brows knitted slightly. "What is a canoodle?" she asked. Her mind tried to dissect the word to figure it out, but the most she could guess was some contraction of can or noodles. Added to the word couch, it made no sense whatsoever. Unless the can of noodles was spilled on the couch. "It sounds messy," Adara observed.

Anna bit her lower lip, not sure if she should show Adara or not. The book was an eye opener, but then she realized that Adara wasn't as innocent as she appeared. They were looking for information because of her active sex life after all. She turned the book so Adara could see as well. "Apparently that is a canoodle. It doesn't even look possible, that's probably why it's stick drawings though." She said sheepishly.

Adara's eyes widened as they lit on the drawing, then returned to their normal size as she tilted her head. "That looks most uncomfortable," she observed. "I am sure that it is possible, though." Her lips pressed into a line. She couldn't imagine motion would be very easy in such a case, but she was also sure that Emilian would know how to solve such a problem.

Anna closed the book, telling herself that's not what they had been looking for. She looked down at the cover of the book as she placed it on the table, uncomfortable with Adara's statement, which was a reminder of real life experience. Anna wasn't jealous of her, she just didn't like the mental images that came with such statements. "So, did you find anything in your book? I could loan it to you if you like."

"I think that I will buy this book," Adara said, closing the cover softly. "And this one as well." Adara slipped the book Anna had been reading underneath her own, looking down at the small stack as she stood, rather than at Anna. Her cheeks were flushed; though she knew that Emilian had no issues with Adara speaking of such things, she felt Anna's discomfort. She couldn't resist the opportunity to sate her curiosity, though.

Anna's jaw dropped as Adara took the other book. She quickly recovered and stood as well, making her way to the counter to get her a bag. "You really don't have to buy them, I wasn't bringing you here to sell you anything. I wouldn't mind if you borrowed them for a while." She knew that she'd be losing money because she'd have to sell them as used, but she didn't like making a profit off her friends. She set the bag on the counter and held it open for Adara to place the books inside, trying not to think about the contents of the book Adara was about to leave with.

Adara shook her head lightly, giving a soft refusal for the bag. "I am not going very far," she said. "And I would like to buy the books, Anna. It may take quite a while to read through everything." And she may want to read them more than once, or keep them for reference, though she didn't say as much to Anna. "How much do they cost?" Adara asked, slipping a Gringotts Platinum card from a hidden pocket in her skirt.

"All right." Anna gave in, eying the card. She took it from Adara as she quoted the cost of the books, swiping the card then looking it over before she gave it back. It wasn't every witch or wizard that could get a card like that, so Adara must come from a very well off wizarding family. She finished the business transaction, handing Adara her receipt, and then started back to the few books left by the chairs. "If they don't have what you're looking for, come back and I'll help you find the right one." She picked up the books, looked at the titles, then started to put them away on the shelves.

Adara nodded. "I will. And I will come to visit you more," she promised. It would be a simple promise to keep. With Emilian gone, Adara would need the comfort of her friends more than ever. She had grown accustomed to near-constant companionship, and though none of her other friendships could compare to the one she shared with Emilian, she realized their value and was grateful. "Thank you for all of your help," Adara said, sincerity ringing in her voice.

"I'd like that, it gets lonely here sometimes, and I consider you one of my friends, so I appreciate your company." She smiled at Adara as she put the last book away and walked toward her. "I should be the one thanking you, I might be still worrying in the dormitory if you hadn't stopped in." Anna realized the thought of the newspaper's contents still upset her, but the intensity had died, and she could only credit that to Adara's distracting her.

Adara smiled softly, her dark eyes shining as she looked at Anna. "It is always easier not to worry when one knows that there is nothing to worry about," she said gently. "I am glad to have been of some help to you." Adara felt that she owed far more than consolation to Anna, after her generosity in lending clothing to Adara without explanation, and in her support, even through her own discomfort.

Anna held open the door for Adara then turned and locked it. She knew that she'd be looking through some more books next time she was in the shop, but didn't think she needed to share her curiosity on the new topic with anyone. "I'll see you around soon then." She waved goodbye to Adara and turned toward the castle. With Emilian leaving town, she assumed Adara would be around a lot more than usual.
