Michael looked up at Dare, it wasn't a good sign that Dare couldn't even finish the piece. He had winced slightly when Dare leaned back into the chair, and turned his eyes down when he saw Dare start to pack his things. Even the way Dare spoke made him cringe. He wasn't used to it, every other time they had had an argument or disagreement it had been resolved without much trouble, and so he wasn't sure what to do.

"Thanks for reminding me," Dare spat, then pressed his lips tight again and bit his tongue. He took a deep breath and tried again. "I'm sorry, I really am. I'll be back tomorrow and I'll be ready." But really, Emilian hadn't needed to rub it in. He knew he had to get it done fast, or he'd have broken the deal they had for drawing Emilian in the first place. This was his chance to break into legitimate art and he was screwing it up because he couldn't stop thinking about his boyfriend. Likely because Michael was sitting there, half curled up and miserable. And Michael was making no move to stand, to do anything but sit there in misery, which only made Dare feel worse for being angry. He wasn't angry at Michael, or he shouldn't be, at least; he had no reason to be mad at Michael. He wasn't mad at Michael, he was just... frustrated. Dare finished packing up his things and stood, tucking his sketchbook under his arm. "Again, I'm sorry. Tomorrow," Dare said, flicked a glance at Michael, as though to ask if he was coming, then headed downstairs. magikal05.proboards46.com/index.cgi?board=jewellers&action=display&thread=3677&page=1#73966

Emilian watched Dare leave, then glanced over at Michael, biting back a remark that really wanted to come out. Instead, he settled for the slightly less rude, good luck, before he turned back to the bedroom. He certainly hoped that they figured out whatever it was, he couldn't deal with another delay.

Michael only gave a frustrated, pained glance to Emilian in return for his words and closed his book, standing up to follow a few seconds behind Dare. He wished again that he just had never said anything and had just let it go.
