Dare's lips slid into a smile as he looked back at Michael. "Yeah, we can stay in the living room," he said, chuckling lightly. For all that he'd wanted to see Emilian and Adara interact, he didn't think he could take the intensity, nor did he think he had any right to see something as personal as the two of them reuniting. Whether anything like what Michael had implied happened or not. Dare squeezed Michael's hand, silently thanking him again for everything he'd done, for being so strong while they'd told Adara, for taking on so much, and then for easing the tension after.

Michael looked out over the lake, hoping they hadn't made the wrong choice in taking her to see Emilian. But if everyone thought he was dead, there could be no harm in it. "I've never seen her angry like that," he said, thinking back. "I mean, not that I've been around her a lot, but she just doesn't seem the type, you know?" He turned his eyes back to Dare, the look on Adara's face flashing through his mind.

Dare nodded in agreement. "Still, if everything you've told me about her and Emilian is true," he said, leaving it at that. He'd mentioned once that she seemed quiet, and Michael had told him that quiet had nothing to do with it. "A lot of people seem one way," Dare said, picking the topic up again. "Silver, for one." His gaze flicked away, then back to Michael's, wordlessly declaring that that wasn't exactly what he'd meant. "When it's just us, we're a lot alike," he clarified.

"That's hard to imagine," Michael said, though he remembered how they had acted together and knew that it was just the tip of the iceberg. "I know what you mean." He looked away, out over the lake again, as he remembered. When in the company of some people, he could be so very different, almost a different person, than who he was with those he was close to, like Dare. He didn't think it was a bad thing, just different sides of him.

When Adara appeared next, her head was down, and her arms were crossed snugly over her chest. She would not take any chances, and so she wore only the clothes that Anna had lent her, a pair of stretchy jeans that hugged her hips and bottom snugly, and a soft blue shirt with short, lightly puffed sleeves and a hood. She'd pulled the hood up, unsure what else to do with it, and her dark hair hug down at the sides of her face, though it did little to hide her blush. She couldn't very well ask Anna to borrow undergarments as well. She had borrowed shoes, though, comfortable canvas sneakers that fit perfectly, Anna being so close to her own height, if a bit slenderer. "I am ready," she said when she was within hearing distance of the boys. "I do not have anything. I left my wand in the dormitory." She was taking no chances.

Dare looked away from Michael, up to Adara at the sound of her voice, and blinked. He'd only seen her a few times, but of those times, she had always been dressed in a skirt and blouse, and had never looked so...insecure? Aware of herself? It was strange. But he let the thought go easily. He didn't know her well enough for anything more than the briefest reaction before he'd turned back to Michael. "Are you ready?" he asked.

Michael looked up at Adara, raising an eyebrow before realizing why he recognized the clothes. The mixture of seeing Adara dressed so out of the ordinary and in Anna's clothes was enough to make him stop. Dare's voice called him back to reality and he turned, thinking for a moment before the words made sense, then he nodded, "Yeah, let's go." He stood, keeping his hand in Dare's to help him up, and tried to not let Adara's clothes get to him.

Adara had not looked directly at either boy, as uncomfortable as she was, and so she missed their reactions. She merely nodded as they stood, then glanced in the general direction of the gates, recalling that there were men apparently waiting there. "Will you disillusion me?" she asked hopefully. She did not feel as though she looked like herself, but all the same, the thought of walking out of the school only to be brought to her father was terrifying.

Dare was watching Michael as they stood, and though he wondered at the look in Michael's eyes, he didn't say anything. They had more than enough to think about, and Michael could tell him later if it still bothered him. He turned back to Adara and nodded, and before long, the three of them were disillusioned, and headed for Hogsmeade. magikal05.proboards46.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=jlounge&thread=3550
