Dare raised his eyebrows and looked aside at Michael. He wasn't entirely certain he wanted to be the first one up the stairs, but neither did he feel comfortable having an armed woman at his back in a narrow staircase. Dare squeezed Michael's hand again, his eyes asking Michael to keep up the lead he'd taken when the shop door had opened.

Michael didn't like her following them, she could hex them in the back and there would be nothing they could do. But she had had plenty chance to do something, so why worry? He glanced over at Dare and walked to the stairs to head up. From what he could see, and he could see all the way to the living room door, nothing was burned. He didn't trust the woman, but he had a feeling that she wouldn't do anything as long as they didn't, so he headed up the stairs.
