[Gabby Brocklehurst]

Gabby sighed, utterly content for the first time in weeks. Thoughts of Ryan drowned out by her all consuming thoughts ok Kevin. She shivered a little at his touch on her back, as it sent ripples undulating through her body. She turned her head and kissed his shoulder, then up his neck and along his jawline, rolling onto her stomach so it was easier.

Kevin sighed as a wave of fatigue hit him. It had been such a long, wonderful day, and he didn't want it to end. His eyes itched with sleep though, try as he might to rub it away. He yawned a little, and held Gabby close, nuzzling his head into her neck, before the dark wave curtain of this world closed around him, and he was lost in endless comfort of sleep.

Gabby felt slumber creeping towards her as it did for Kevin, she shifted a little, trying to get comfy. She moved so that her curves fit against Kevin and her head was cradled in the hollow of his neck. She watched the rise and fall of his chest fot a moment, one hand resting lightly on it, a blissful smile on her face. But it wasn't long before she slipped peacefully into the dreamworld.

Kevin woke up sometime later. He blinked his eyes once, trying to focus them. The room was very dark, and he could feel Gabby's soft breath on his neck. He smiled down at her, and kissed the top of her head gently, before lightly sliding out of his position, and walking over to the window. A Bright half-moon gazed down at him, almost winking at him as if to say, "Way to go Man!" Kevin stood in the window, naked, enjoying the cool breeze on his hot body.

Gabby stirred and waited for the world to come into focus after sleeping. She turned over, and saw Kevin standing by the window. She watched how the moonlight made his skin glisten, a smile on her face. Silently she slid back the sheet and padded across the room to Kevin. Her arms encirlced his waist and she leant her chin on his shoulder, their bodies pressed together. She just stood there, they had moved beyond words, they were no longer necessary for them and they would often only complicate things.

Kevin didn't turn around as he heard Gabby get up out of the bed, and he didn't turn when he felt her arms wrap around him, her chin resting on his shoulder. Kevin had never been good at words really, but he knew that he would just ruin the moment if he said anything. He just lightly took both of her hands, and held them close in his. He brought one up, and gave it a little kiss, before returning it to his waist.

Gabby smiled at his kiss and shufled a little closer to Kevin, her cool skin warming as it was in contact with his hot skin. She was slightly unnerved by the strength of the feelings she had for him, and so soon after Ryan, but she knew a good thing when she found it and so she was not going to let Kevin go. She turned her head and kissed his neck and down to his shoulder, telling him silently of what she thought would soon be, or maybe already was, love.

Kevin finally turned around, placing his hands along the sole of Gabby's back, and gazing into her eyes. He wasn't sure what he felt right then. Maybe it was love, or maybe it was something more. All he knew for certain was that if felt like his heart was about to explode out of his chest, and he could hardly breath, and that when he looked into Gabby's eyes, he felt as if the world stood still, and they were the only two people around, and he was pretty sure that those were all good things.

Kevin's touch sent tingles racing along her spine and she gasped in reaction to it. She bit her lip and looked down, the emotions running between them were so raw and powerful, that it was almost painful to look into his eyes. She was scared, she had to admit that, Ryan had been the only other person she had let into her heart and it had left her bitter and broken. She knew that if she looked him in the eye, her fear would shine through along with her love for him.

Despite the goodness of the moment, Kevin could sense a little anxiety in the air. Taking a step back, Kevin looked at Gabby, concern in his face. "Is everything all right hun?"

Gabby looked up at him, everything she felt evident in her eyes. "The only other man I have let into my heart left me broken and bitter. I've healed now." she started softly, unsure whether she should tell Kevin this at all. But he had asked and Gabby was sure that the tiny feeling inside her was love. "But a part of me is still scared that it could happen all over again" she whispered, biting her lip. She took the step that had separated them so she was in his arms once again. "I don't doubt you, I don't want this to end" she said softly. She reached up and kissed him softly on the lips.

Kevin held Gabby close, and kissed her on the forehead. "I understand completely. Love is a brutal and scary thing, and in the hands of the wrong person, it can be a very dangerous weapon. I promise you though, that as long as there is a breath in my body, I will never ever do anything like that to you." Kevin knew what he was saying was coming from his heart, but he still felt nervous saying the words. Things were moving so fast between them, and yet it felt so right.

Gabby's heart raced at his words, they had been exactly what she needed to hear. "I know we said we would take it slow" Gabby said softly, a little ruefully, "but what we have feels so right I just want to cling on to it" she finished. She reached up, settling one arm around his neck to bring them close together, then pressed her lips to his.

Kevin couldn't believe what was happening. He shouldn't believe it. Kevin had always made it a rule not to dream for anything, because it made rejection so much easier. Yet, he couldn't help but feel happy and relaxed in Gabby's presence. He even started dreaming about a future together. He was scared to allow that. He kissed Gabby back as she kissed him, and held her hands tightly. "Screw being slow hun. It is time to listen to our hearts."

Gabby nodded, her heart felt ready to burst out of her chest with joy. "My thoughts exactly" she said, grinning at him. She kissed him, her kiss full of fire and dazzle. Her heart was hammering in her chest and sparks skittered across her skin where she came in contact with his.
