"Italian is my second language." Mari responded beaming. "My mom and I moved to Italy a while ago so she could work things out and live with her sister. Then we moved back home." She explained briefly. She left the part about her back stabbing, two timing, son of a bitch father who got kicked out of the family. No need to bore him just yet.

"Oh. That makes sense." Liam said, smiling a little to be polite. He could tell there was more reasoning, but did not want her to be aggrivated.

"Do you come here a lot to this room?" Mari asked. She knew a lot of people who did. This wasn't the first time she walked in while it was in use. A lot of times she wished she hadn't, but the room was so magical she couldn't stay away. "It used to be my favorite place at Hogwarts."

"Um..actually..this is the second time I have been here...It is like...a perfect sanctuary for anyone..." he said, somewhat shy about answering. He then heard that it used to be her favorite place. "Used to? What happened?" he asked, somewhat curious. He may have taken what she said the wrong way, but how would he have known that?

"Oh, nothing. I just meant before I left Hogwarts, it was one of my favorite places. Besides the Forest. It seems both places are pretty popular now. So much can happen in three years, I guess." Mari said. She probably should have been more clear in her words, but even that was difficult.

"Oh...wait...isn't the forest restricted? Or is it just a misnomer." he asked, somewhat curious now. There were some places that had incorrect names.

"It's supposed to be." Mari explained. "There are all sorts of creatures that live there that I wouldn't want to come across, and I haven't. You just know when to stop going in deeper and where to go. It's a rule the don't enforce very much."

"Oh...maybe one day, I'll try going there." he said, half-joking. He was now curious as to what the forest was like, not like he truly cared if he had encountered a dangerous creature and was injured badly.

Mari laughed. "So. I guess you're new here?" She asked. There were a lot of people at Hogwarts that were new. WEll, her definition of 'new' included the last three years.

"You hit the nail on the head." he said, smiling a bit. He felt comfortable talking to Marisol. Maybe that is why all of his friends were girls. He felt more comfortable around them.

Mari smiled. "Me too, sort of. I used to go here and I took some time off." More like she was dragged out by her drunken mother. Same difference.

"Oh. Well, I'm glad you are here. It's nice meeting new people." he said, smiling.

Mari smiled. Her cheeks reddened a little at the comment. "Thank you." She said. "It feels like almost everyone I have met since I've been back are new. None of them as nice and welcoming as you. Thank you for not cursing me first thing." She grinned and held up her arm revealing a small scar from a nasty encounter.

Liam saw her blush and was unsure what to say. "No need to thank me." he said after thinking for a bit. "Why would I want to curse you first thing?" he asked before he saw her reveal a scar. "I will not assume why you have that..but you're not alone." he said, wanting make her feel more comfortable. He moved his shirt, revealing the scar he sustained in the region of his torso, right where one would find his left lung.

"Pretty impressive." Mari said. His scar surprised her, but she hid that as best as she could. Her tiny scar seemed like nothing but a scratch compared to his. "I have no clue why people do what they do." She said sighing and letting her arm drop down.
