Liam was walking on the seventh floor of the school. He paced a bit, hearing rumors of the come and go room. I need the perfect sanctuary...familiar, yet new.. he thought three times before he opened his eyes and noticed the door materialize. He gripped the handle and opened the door slowly, hesitating. When he walked in, he felt grass caress his ankles. He took off his shoes and socks and even his robes, putting them to the side. He was soaking it all in. The grass seemed so perfect, as if it was not disrupted by anything. He then looked at the lake that was there aswell. He knew where he was. This was a recreation of his home in the encampment, yet it was at a smaller scale. It was the perfect place for him to clear his thoughts as he felt tears well up in his eyes at the familiarity. He walked to the lake, carrying his ocarina and sat near the edge, looking at the lake. It was so clear that he could see through it completely, as if it were glass. He held the ocarina and played his signature melody, the one he played at the school lake for Kadie that night. . His eyes closed as played the melody, having a dream like view inside his mind, trying to find the name he should pick. It then occured to him. Native Night he thought as the melody ended.

Kadie was walking along when she noticed Liam stopping by the come and go room. She couldn't help but be curious, and followed him, though he didn't seem to notice her. She stayed quiet and just listened to the melody that he was playing.
She wondered at the room. It was beautiful, and the melody clearly made everything that much more beautiful. She closed her eyes just getting the feel of the melody, and when it was over, she stayed silent for a moment, her thoughts lingering on the lingering melody that seemed to be hovering there.
"You just keep getting better and better," she commented softly, knowing that she might startle him, but hoping that she wouldn't.

Liam heard Kadie speak and nearly jumped in surprise, yet blushed at her compliment. "You startled me..and thanks..." he said, still blushing as he stood up. He was unsure what Kadie thought of the room, as the enviornment resembled his home. "I...I guess I thought of home when I came here." he said, trying to make conversation.

"Well, then your home is beautiful," she said with a nod.
"I'm sorry I followed you. I should have said something," she said apologetically. But then again, she really wasn't. Just in the short time that she'd gotten to know Liam, she was already considering him one of her best friends. Maybe even as close to her as Cassie was, but for different reasons.
"Do you miss it?" she asked, referring to his home.

"Oh..thanks" he thanked Kadie about the compliment, only to hear about the apology. "It's alright, I don't mind the company." he said, smiling a bit. He then heard her question and sighed a bit. "I do miss it...but not the people there." he said, remembering everything that happened back at home.

She nodded at his response, and was really glad that he didn't mind that she was here. She didn't press him about what he said about the people there. She knew that there were a lot of things that she would have a hard time thinking about, much less talking about.
"So, are you liking the people at Hogwarts better then?" she asked.

Liam looked at her as if puzzled as to why she asked. "Well let's see, the people here are very nice, they don't seem to insult me on a daily basis, and they don't seem to start fights either...no I don't." he replied, the last part being sarcastic, but in a funny way. "Of course I like the people at Hogwarts better." he said, smiling, biting his tongue to stop himself from adding in 'especially you' because he suspected that Kadie would know what he meant.

She wasn't really surprised at his words.
"Then, are you ever going to go back?" she asked him as she looked at him, just wondering. She wondered what it was like to be belittled like that by people. The only real problem she'd dealt with, with her family was that her father never seemed to think that she was good enough. That she could never compare to Kevin. Now that Kevin was gone, well, it sucked to be at home. So usually, she went other places for the summer.

"I doubt it. They have nothing to lose, and neither do I." he said, as if it was just a casual phrase. He didn't care for his home, it was filled with pain and hatred. "Besides, What use would it do going back?" he asked. "All it does is isolate me, so I may aswell just steer away from it." he said solemnly, yet smiling. He was confident in his choice for some reason.

"Well, I'm glad that you're not going back. Otherwise, I'd have to be a stow-away in your suitcase and then beat up all of the people that would be mean to you there," she said with a grin.
"So, you saved me a very uncomfortable journey crammed into a suitcase," she added.
She straightened, getting serious now.
"See, you're more a man then any of those men who have two full arms. What you said before was full of wisdom," she added. Typical Kadie. She always said exactly what she thought.

Liam couldn't help but laugh at the suitcase joke. He then heard her speak to him, telling him how he was more of a man than any of the ones who did not lose a bodypart. He could not help but blush at this. He was unsure how to react or how to answer to her comment. He only shook his head, slightly in disbelief.

She smiled as he only shook his head in disbelief.
"You just wait Liam McAdam. One day maybe you should go back and show them all that you've become even better then them," she said with a smile.
"But then again, maybe it's not worth it. Maybe it'll just be worth it to yourself one day to look back and see how far you've come, in spite of all those who might have said that you couldn't do it," she added.

Liam was captivated by Kadie's words. They seemed to pierce him and he could not help what happened after. He hugged her and cried softly, but these tears seemed to be from an overwhelming joy rather than sorrow. He never felt so happy in his life, let alone how he did right now. "Thank you.." was all he could say.

She held onto him as he cried, and a few tears of her own slid down her cheeks.
"You're welcome," she said softly. She grew silent, but not in a tense way. She was just thinking, and wondering. She knew that Liam's tears weren't of sorrow, and she was just glad that she could help him in someway. Had she remained the Snow Queen in his presence, she would not have been able to.

Liam felt warm, embracing Kadie like this, yet he could not say anything else. What could he say?
