The new intensity and energy brought another low sound from Arwen's lips as one hand fell down to his shoulder and the other curled around his neck to press him tightly to her, as though he wasn't close enough all ready. She almost wanted to abandon the kiss to trail her lips down his jaw and neck, but she couldn't bring herself to break the kiss just yet.

The pirate felt no such insecurity. He wanted more, and he took, his mouth hungry against her jaw and the sweet line of her throat. He swept her hair aside, exposing her to the cool night air and the powerful heat of his lips. His skin was burning up, and as his teeth scraped lightly against the beat of her pulse, he felt as though he might incinerate with need.

Arwen drew a sharp breath when the decision was taken out of her hands. She put her hand on the back of his head, holding him there, right at that spot on her neck that felt so good. Her lips found his neck then, returning the pleasure she was getting from his mouth. Her eyelids fell, she couldn't think of anything other than the kiss.

The pirate's kiss, if anything, found a way to intensify against her at the encouragement of her hand, the feel of her mouth against his neck driving him near insanity. It was only by the sheerest chance that he heard the warning voices of some other couple approaching the highly visible main path they were twined together in the middle of. With one massive effort, the pirate's head lifted, and his hand slipped back down to Arwen's waist as he tugged them through the nearest row of bushes out of sight. His breaths came in ragged pulls as he looked down at the girl in his arms, thought struggling weakly to filter into his mind.

Arwen hadn't heard the voices, all she knew was that the guy she had been kissing had suddenly stopped and pulled her through a bush. She looked up at him, smiling, her eyes dancing. Thought didn't have a chance to come back to the front of her mind before her lips found his neck again.

Another husky groan rumbled from the pirate's throat at Arwen's eager return to the kiss. He tried, briefly, unsuccessfully, to reign himself in again, but soon realized what a hopeless task that was. His lips sought that spot on her pulse again, where he could feel the thud of her heartbeat against his lips, his tongue, beneath the light scrape of his teeth. His arms wrapped tightly around her, nearly crushing her against him as he gave in again.

Arwen lay her arms on his, sighing into his neck as he returned to her neck. The brief stop, while not immediately letting her think, had been just enough to start her mind clearing, however slowly. Her mind was still hazy and she was still taken by the kiss, but she knew that she was hidden, and she didn't know how far the guy would want to go.

The pirate grew increasingly restless as his blood pounded through his veins. He held Arwen tight to his body with one arm, while the other hand swept up her side, stopping just short of temptation. His kiss tensed, then slowed before he raised his head half a breath from her still damp skin. "Tell me to stop," he pleaded, the words low and husky.

Arwen didn't want to stop, but she knew that if she didn't then something might happen. So she pressed her lips to his neck one more time before pulling away from him and taking a breath to calm herself. She looked away from him, knowing that if she kept her eyes on him she would kiss him again. A smile came to her face, she had definitely enjoyed herself.

Though he had asked for her control, where his was lacking, he could not help feeling regret at the loss of her warmth, the press of her body and the taste of her skin. The pirate watched Arwen intently as he worked to find himself again, to put aside whatever unknown side of himself had come to the fore in the past numberless minutes. "Who are you?" he asked at last, overcome with curiosity. If she told him again that her name was Arwen, he would not push, but he wondered, and so he had felt compelled to ask.

Arwen's hand had come up to lightly touch her neck where he had been kissing, a small smile on her lips. She looked up at him, considering, "I'm a scholar," she said, eyes sparkling both with the remaining feelings from the kiss and the game. "And a barkeep." The last would give it away, everyone knew who worked at the club. She had no problems telling him who she was, or finding out who he was, the kiss was over and so the mystery didn't matter nearly as much, even if it was strange logic.

The pirate's eyes widened slightly, the shock of recognition vibrant in his eyes. It was her. Of all the girls he could have found, it was the one who, outside the masquerade, he felt the most comfortable with. It was a fantasy come unbelievably true, and he didn't know what to do with it. Outside the masquerade, this never would have happened. He could not risk reality intruding, would not risk her thinking differently of him because of what he'd done under the guise of the pirate. But it had been him, him behind the mask, perhaps behind the mask he wore every day.
He forcibly replaced the mask, attempted to shutter the wash of emotions in his eyes and smiled, assuming through a nearly transparent veneer the charm of the pirate he had become. He bowed to her, caught her hand once more and kissed the back, his lips lingering now that he knew. "The pleasure has been mine," he murmured, straightening. It was all he could do not to beat a hasty retreat, though retreat was indeed what he had in mind.

The flash of recognition in the pirate's eyes was expected, but it was more than a knowledge of her name, it was the recognition of a friend. Arwen smiled when he took her hand, but couldn't think of anything to say in response. She tilted her head at him, "And what about you? Who is the pirate that has shown me such a good time?" Her eyes would have sparkled if they weren't narrowed in thought as she tried to figure out who he was, suddenly curious now that it was so obvious he knew her.

The pirate paused as he straightened, his eyes meeting hers. He didn't want her to know, wanted to keep the night close, a fantasy to take out and examine without risk. But she had told him who she was, and he felt as though he owed her a clue, at the very least. "A dreamer," he said softly. "A scholar, and a shadow." He leaned close, pressed one last kiss against her lips, softly, reverently, then slipped back through the bushes and disappeared.

Before she had a chance to speak, the pirate had kissed her again and disappeared. "Wait! No..." Arwen sighed and watched the place where he had went through, wondering. Something about him made a name come into her mind, but she shook her head, no, it couldn't be him. The personalities didn't match up in the least. No, she was wrong, it couldn't be. She began the walk back to the building slowly, her fingers still stroking her neck as she thought.
