Kayleigh wandered down to the threee broomsticks to meet Cassie. She knew that Cassie had been through a lot lately and thought she would take her, give her a few drinks and help her forget her problems. Cassie hadn't arrived yet so Kayleigh thought she would just wait for her, she stood right outside the door, careful not to block anyone's way.

Cassie shivered and pulled her cloak tighter around her as the wind threatened to whip it off. She made her way down the streets of hogsmeade with her hood pulled up as she stayed in the shadows. She knew that when they went into the pub she couldn't hide, but she made it last as long as she could. She saw Kay waiting outside the pub and walked up to her. "Hey" she said, clearing her throat a little. She had no idea how sensible it was to be there, the gossip column hadn't exactly been singing her praises and she was sure everyone would have read it by now.

Kayleigh saw someone walking down with a hood over them. She knew at once it was Cassie and she wasn't let down. "Hiya" she replied. "Let's go inside it's pretty cold out here" she grabbed Cassie's arm and pulled her inside. She found a table by the window at the back away from prying eyes. She put Cassie in her chair and sat down. "Don't worry about people in here. I'm sure not everyone has read the collumn" she said, "who put it there anyway, i doubt it would have been him" she said. "Oh be right back" she said going up to the bar and grabbed two rounds of drinks. She brought them back to the table and set them infront of them both."Here i got two round, im sure we'll be here for a while" she said taking a sip. "Besides if the drinks get cold we can always warm them up" she said smiling.

Cassie let Kay lead her over to the table without a word and just watched as she went to order drinks.Cassie attempted a grin, but couldn't quite manage it. "Everyone reads the paper Kay" Cassie said as she hesitantly pulled her hood down. She sighed and looked around, people were looking in her direction with varying expressions of disgust and reproach. She turned away, trying to ignore them. She picked up her glass and took a sip. She shook her head. "I know it wasn't Julius, he wants to meet me tonight" Cassie said softly, trying to keep their conversation private. She paused and drew out her wand, muttering she laid a spell around them which would prevent anyone outside their 'bubble' from hearing their conversation. "Better, now we can talk properly" Cassie said, looking up at Kay.

"Well even if people read the paper, they may have missed that part out. I mean it was mainly about some guy Chase something or other" she said, notcing people looking at Cassie. One person was laughing "Lanlocke" she said quietly and his tongue stuck to the lid of his throat, "you're welcome" she said turnng to Cassie, taking another swig of butterbeer, "hey neat trick" she said smiling, "so what did you want to talk about?" she asked.

"Everything" Cassie said simply. "I feel as if I don't know myself anymore, I need to rediscover who I am Kay, and I thought that you could probably help. What I've done has changed me, I need to know who me is now." Cassie said, trying to explain what she meant. She ran her hand through her hair, and took another sip of her drink.

Kay listened intently, "well i mean you're obviously going through a lot right now, but whatever people say do not listen to them okay. I mean you cant help it that you liked him or like him" she said, "I reckon you're closer to finding yourself than you think you are, I'll tell you who you are - you are a kind studious girl who is slightly confused right now but is smart enough to know that what she did wasn't wrong at all because you loved him and you realise that this will blow over soon and many people will make so many more mistakes - a lot already have and they can't judge you" she said taking a swig of more butterbeer, "i hope that makes sense at all" she added smilling reasuringly

Cassie listened, feeling her heart warm at Kay's words. "Thanks" she said softly, her voice thick with emotion. "I do love him. I do." She said, looking up at Kay earnestly, truth burning in her eyes. "I'm no angel though, I led on Jacob, slept with Chase twice and had an affair with a professor. That can't all be justified by love, most of it can't" Cassie said, her voice suddenly tired as she said for the first time all she had done. "I don't know how that happened" Cassie said, shaking her head as she picked up her glass, her hand trembling a bit, to drink.

Kay smiled, "it's nice that you love him, i've never really loved anyone" she said, "So what if you led on Jacob he's young anf naiive and he'll get over it" she paused, "i didnt know you slept with Chase" she said, "huh. Well still you were angry because you were in love and you needed someone and he just happened to be there" she said, "And you hardly had an affair with a professor cause the other relations seem casual rather than anything deep" she told her taking a drink of more butterbeer.

Cassie listened to Kay's reasoning and something inside of her agreed with her, yet other parts were screaming that what Cassie had done was ruthless, repulsive, that it made her worthless. "He wants to meet me tonight." Cassie said, knowing that she didn't have to say it was Julius she was talking about. "I love him so much it hurts" Cassie said, her voice dropping to a whisper. "Still part of me can't help but say it's wrong." she continued, quickly wiping away a tear that had slid down her cheek.

Kay felt some kind of satisfaction with her reasoning but knew that Cassie would be in two minds about it, "so are yoy going to meet him tonight?" she asked her, "Wow thats so cute" she said, "it's nice that you found love. I feel happy for you, and dont you dare worry about what other people say" she said, "cause they're worthless and are probably jealous that you're getting some and they arent" she added smiling. "What you did was not wrong in any way whatsoever" she said smiling.

A smile tugged persistently at Cassie's lips, and she eventually gave in as the corners of her mouth curved upwards. "Thanks Kay, if only the world thought the same way." she said before taking another sip of butterbeer which drained her glass. She set it down before continuing. "I am going to go, I can't not go. I'm too far into this to pull out now" Cassie said softly, and not only to Kay, but partly to herself as well.

"Well it's just nice to see you smiling" she said warmly. "And most of the world probably do think the sameway - they just wont admit it" she added, dinking some more butterbeer. "Well it's good of you to go you know. At least you're not a wimp and are going to pull out just because someone found out and wrote about you" she told her smiling reasuringly.

"That's the thing, I don't know how anyone found out. Unless they saw us at the quidditch pitch. But we would have noticed if there was anyone close and we only kissed a couple of times" Cassie said, not letting a smile show. "Oh well, what's done is done. I'm not going to abandon him." Cassie said, looking around the pub, glaring at the few people who were still watching her intently. She turned back to Kay. "I hope you find love soon, it's the most delicious thing in the world." Cassie said dreamily, this time letting her smile fall into place.
